SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Some San Diego Police Department officers are being isolated as they await test results for coronavirus, according to SDPD Chief David Nisleit.Those officers were exposed to the virus and are currently under isolation, Chief Nisleit told 10News anchor Jim Patton. If an arrest or contact with someone must be made, officers put on masks, goggles, and gloves. A police spokesperson added that officers have been self-reporting possible exposure, both on-duty and off-duty. A medical expert then determines if they should be tested. "We're taking great care of them, absolutely," Nisleit added.Precautions are being taken by law enforcement across the county. A spokesperson from Oceanside Police says they're doing more phone or online reports when possible. Dispatch and officers are also asking more questions about cold and flu-like symptoms.A video from the Chula Vista Department tells the public, "We may ask you to wear a mask."Starting Friday, Chula Vista Police will be taking an extra step. A spokesperson says they'll strongly suggest officers wear protective equipment for all interactions with the public closer than six feet. The San Diego Sheriff's Department, along with El Cajon, Chula Vista, Oceanside, and Carlsbad Police say none of their officers has tested positive. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Seven patients from Rady Children’s Hospital took a break from their treatment and got in the water with Bottlenose dolphins.SeaWorld trainer Jorge Villa hosted the children for the experience. Villa holds a special place in his heart for Rady Children’s because he was treated there when he was diagnosed with Diabetes at the age of 12.For many of the children, it’s therapeutic and offers them a chance to forget about whatever health challenges they face and focus on being a kid.“It just brings you into the playful childishness that you have in your heart and in your mind,” said Juliana Abraham, 14. She’s been fighting a rare form of brain cancer.  Her mom says faith, prayer, and a positive attitude have helped Juliana persevere.Rady has been offering the dolphin interaction program to patients since 2008. It was first inspired by SeaWorld dolphin trainer and cancer survivor Joy Clausen-Soto.For more information on the program, contact Rady Children’s Hospital at 858-576-1700. 1038

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego’s violent crime rate fell in 2018 while the city’s overall crime rate rose. According to an early report from the Brennan Center for Justice, San Diego’s violent crime rate fell by 0.7 percent. Overall, however, crime is up. While San Diego’s overall crime rate was up, most other large cities saw a major reduction in crime. New York City saw a nearly 2 percent decrease in crime while Los Angeles saw a 3.3 percent reduction. Meanwhile, Chicago, a city known for its crime, saw a 9.5 percent increase in crime. In contrast, San Francisco saw a 9 percent decrease in crime. Each had makeup, hair, and wardrobe provided thanks to Macy's. “Today’s fashion show is all about friendships," said Mary Johnson with the community outreach team. "Friendships are just as important as taking good care of yourself, exercising, and good nutrition. As we get older friendships get even more important."Ladies who modeled said the day made them feel special and confident. “A lot of people when they get to be our age don’t want to do anything different.
