As businesses across the country deal with the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, Country Time Lemonade is making sure the country's "littlest entrepreneurs" get the same help.The Littlest Bailout is an economic relief program aimed at helping kids start lemonade stands. Kids who are 14 and younger can get a 0 "stimulus check," which comes in the form of a prepaid card.Country Time says the money is to help kids "preserve the values of lemonade stands, honest work, and entrepreneurship."To apply, parents must upload an essay, 250 words or less, that answers the question, "How would your child use their stimulus check to juice the economy?"Parents must also upload a picture of the lemonade stand sign their child/children were going to use. The limit is one entry per household.According to the official rules, the company plans to give out 1,000 of the prepaid cards.There is no purchase necessary and the program ends on Aug. 12. Americans aren’t exercising like they used to.“I’ve definitely been walking a whole lot less since the coronavirus hit,” Nathan Martin said.With social distancing orders put into place, the pandemic has many people spending more time at home.“I was a little bit less active and more Netflix,” Hannah Hockensmith said.Now, a new study is showing this drop in physical activity is increasing health concerns across the globe.“COVID-19 is a worldwide phenomenon unlike anything else we’ve seen in generations,” said Dr. Geoff Tison, a cardiologist at the University of California, San Francisco.Tison recently finished a new study using smartphone apps to track the step counts from almost half a million people in countries worldwide.The data was collected from mid-January to early June and the findings show the world is walking a lot less.“Within the first month of the pandemic, declaration activity decreased by about 27%,” he said.Tison says this lack of physical activity could damage people’s health, especially in older adults.“With decreased activity, increased sitting on the couch, just not being as active is muscle mass can start to decrease as can bone density,” he said.In America, the study shows the biggest drop in step counts happened in New York City while Dallas had the smallest decrease.“The changes in activity seem to reflect adherence to social distancing at least to a degree,” Tison said.To increase exercise indoors, Tison says is all about thinking outside the box.“You can do similar exercises, work similar muscles with things around the house,” he said. “Use a gallon of milk instead of a dumbbell.”To exercise outdoors, however, Tison believes changes need to happen at the city and state levels.“Policy makers, governments need to be creative understanding that people are humans and want to be active and want do things,” he said. “But to enable them to do that safely.” 1913

As Fire Chief John Alston Jr. spoke to reporters in New Haven, Connecticut, about a spate of drug overdoses on Wednesday, he heard shouting coming from behind him."We're getting another call of a person," Alston said.He quickly helped coordinate the response, and then returned to the microphone.That scene occurred the same day that 76 people were believed to have overdosed on some form of K2, or synthetic marijuana, officials in New Haven said. Officials responded to 19 additional reports of overdoses on Thursday, bringing the total to 95 cases, according to Rick Fontana, New Haven Emergency Operations Director.Almost all of the overdoses occurred in New Haven Green, a large park in the city's downtown.On Wednesday, 72 people were transported to the hospital and four people refused treatment, according to Fontana.There have been no deaths from the spate of overdoses. Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey ordered bars, gyms, movie theaters, water parks, and tubing operators to close for at least 30 days on Monday, following weeks of steady increases in positive COVID-19 test results in the state.The order, which goes into effect Monday at 8 p.m. and lasts through at least July 27, comes a week after he issued a strong warning to bars and nightclubs, specifically in Scottsdale, that were not adhering to their social distancing requirements.Ducey also limited mass gatherings to no more than 50 people ahead of the Fourth of July holiday weekend and delayed the start of school in the fall.In terms of bars, the order describes them as businesses with Series 6 or 7 liquor licenses "whose primary business is the sale or dispensing of alcoholic beverages." Those businesses can remain open for pick up, delivery, or drive-thru, the order states.Restaurants can remain open for both in-person dining, as well as takeout, delivery, and carry-out, Ducey said, but reminded them to follow the requirements he issued last week.In order for bars, water parks, tubing companies, and indoor gyms to reopen, they will have to "attest to adhere to all public health regulations, and post it for the public to see." Enforcement will be led by local health officials and authorities, Ducey said.Restaurant dining rooms, some bars, nightclubs, attractions, and movie theaters were given the OK to reopen six weeks ago when Arizona's stay-at-home orders were lifted in mid-May, in coordination with the White House's phased-in gating criteria.Reopening guidelines were issued to restaurants and businesses, including recommendations to reduce capacity and occupancy, increase cleaning, and to consider testing employees. However, enforcement of those recommendations was mostly left to the individual restaurants.On June 17, Ducey issued another executive order turning those recommendations into requirements.In recent weeks, Arizona has seen a significant increase in positive COVID-19 cases. ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) — A Los Angeles police detective has been charged with secretly videotaping dozens of men inside a restroom at Angel Stadium of Anaheim.The Anaheim city attorney's office says 42-year-old Ryan Caplette was charged Friday with 75 misdemeanor counts.Prosecutors allege that Caplette was the man seen videotaping inside a stadium bathroom on June 8. He was off-duty at the time. Caplette was released after being placed under a citizen's arrest.Prosecutors allege that Caplette videotaped at least 37 people that day.Caplette is charged with disorderly conduct that includes peeping with intent to invade privacy, secretly videotaping in a restroom and loitering.Caplette couldn't immediately be reached for comment. He has a court appearance scheduled for July 22.An LAPD spokesman says Caplette has been assigned to paid home duty. 859
