(KGTV) -- A man was arrested after U.S. Customs and Border Protection says he tried to smuggle more than 200 pounds of liquid methamphetamine into the U.S. According to CBP, the 36-year-old man tried to enter the U.S. at the Calexico Port of entry Tuesday night around 11 p.m. The man was referred to a secondary inspection point when a K-9 alerted agents to the gas tank area. Upon further inspection, CBP discovered 222 pounds of liquid meth worth 6,000. “Drug trafficking organizations have one goal in mind, which is to get their product across,” said Officer in Charge, Sergio Beltran. “Concealing narcotics in gas tanks is one tactic and by utilizing our layered enforcement, we were able to stop this before it plagued our communities.”The man was arrested and the drugs and vehicle seized. 826

(KGTV) -- Customers of the Campo Group Water System are being advised that the county has issued a drinking water warning after samples found increased levels of nitrates.Sample results found that on September 2, 2020, nitrate levels exceeded the maximum contaminant level for safe drinking water.The group serves a mini mart, gasoline station, and an office, according to the county.Nitrates in drinking water are a health concern for infants less than six-months-old and pregnant women are advised not to consume the water.“Boiling, freezing, filtering, or letting water stand does not reduce the nitrate level,” the county said.The Campo Group Water System is providing bottled water until nitrate levels fall below the maximum contaminant level, the county said. 788

Can Singapore Airlines do luxury better than its rivals?The Asian carrier on Thursday unveiled a new cabin design for its fleet of Airbus A380 superjumbo jets, featuring double beds, swivel chairs and personal wardrobes in private first-class staterooms.The new design includes six spacious suites that boast 32-inch flat-screen TVs, vanity counters and luxury leather furnishings. In business class, couples traveling together can drop the divider between seats to create a fully-reclining double bed in the center column.But a decade after it first introduced the A380 -- the world's largest passenger jet -- Singapore's own luxury standard has been leapfrogged by competitors in the Middle East like Dubai's Emirates Airline and Abu Dhabi's Etihad Airways.The Gulf carriers' first-class offerings include on-board showers, fold-away beds and sliding privacy doors.
