Federal authorities are investigating after officials in Massachusetts confirm that a ballot drop box in Boston was set on fire early Sunday morning.According to WCVB-TV in Boston, a ballot drop box out front of the Boston Public Library's main branch in Copley Square was set ablaze around 4 a.m. ET on Sunday morning. Crews eventually extinguished the fire with water.According to WCVB, an "incendiary device" was used to start the fire. WBTS-TV reports that the FBI is investigated in the incident."For the next several weeks, it is a top priority of our offices to help maintain the integrity of the election process in Massachusetts by aggressively enforcing federal election laws," the FBI and U.S. Attorney's Office in Massachusetts said in a joint statement.Boston Mayor Marty Walsh and Secretary of the Commonwealth William Galvin also both condemned the incident in a joint statement.“What happened in the early hours of this morning to the ballot drop box in Copley Square is a disgrace to democracy, a disrespect to the voters fulfilling their civic duty, and a crime,” the statement read. “Our first and foremost priority is maintaining the integrity of our elections process and ensuring transparency and trust with our voters, and any effort to undermine or tamper with that process must be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. We ask voters not to be intimidated by this bad act, and remain committed to making their voices heard in this and every election.”Officials later determined that there were 122 ballots inside the drop box at the time of the wire. Of those ballots, 87 were legible and able to processed. Thirty-five ballots were damaged, and WBTS reported that "up to 10" cannot be counted.Officials say any Massachusetts voter who dropped off their ballot at the library between 2:30 p.m. ET on Saturday and 4 a.m. ET on Sunday should check the status of their ballot on the state's tracking website or contact the city's Elections Department.The incident comes just over a week after a ballot box in southern California was set on fire in an apparent act of arson. 2109

Peter and Brunie LaBozzetta were high school sweethearts and soulmates. They were married for 37 years before Peter passed away from kidney issues and a chronic heart condition in February."It was very, very hard. He was my everything," said LaBozzetta.In the depths of her grief, her future daughter-in-law gave her a gift, a silver pendant LaBozzetta filled with her husband's ashes. She hung it in her car. Peter was usually the navigator during a lifetime of drives together. "He was my co-pilot, and I wanted that to continue,' said LaBozzetta.Instead, the ride came to a halt Saturday afternoon in an apartment carport off Borden Road. She got in her car and immediately noticed the pendant was gone."Panic, scared, anger," said LaBozzetta.The flurry of emotions was sparked by a car break-in. LaBozzetta believes she locked the car, but isn't sure. Also stolen was her husband's disabled parking placard, which she was about to return to the state DMV. But it's the theft of that something priceless that's left her reeling. DeAngelo was arrested on suspicion of at least 13 murders and more than 50 rapes across California in April 2018. The company gave CNNMoney a sneak peek last week — and there's a lot that it brings to the table.It offers thousands of hours of live sports that aren't available on national TV, including, soccer, boxing, golf, rugby, cricket, and a baseball and hockey game or two every day of the MLB and NHL seasons.It has a few exclusives, too, including some episodes of the lauded ESPN documentary series "30 for 30" — plus that show's entire back catalog. There's also Kobe Bryant's new basketball analysis show "Detail," which premieres just in time for the NBA playoffs.That all adds up to a ton of content, and it's hard not to feel a bit overwhelmed by the variety. ESPN executives sounded downright breathless last week as they rattled off the number of programs they are bringing to the service."I, personally, am incredibly excited about the potential," new ESPN President Jimmy Pitaro told reporters at the company's Connecticut headquarters. "We really like our hand here."Related: ESPN+ launches into hazy future with 'Last Days of Knight'But all that pomp and circumstance comes with a couple of glaring caveats.This is not the Netflix of the sporting world. Pitaro made it pretty clear that he didn't expect customers to treat the new service as a standalone, and described it as "complementary and additive to what you've been getting."Pitaro added that ESPN+ wasn't designed to compete with distributors like Comcast, AT&T and Dish Network's Sling TV that offer cable bundles. It works on all the major platforms, including iPhone, Android, Apple TV, Roku and Amazon Fire.I tested an iPhone version that subscribed to ESPN's TV channels and ESPN+, and it was easy to pull up live games, replays and other clips playing on any of the main ESPN channels or the add-on service. A tab that features game scores for all of my favorite teams was an added bonus.The Apple TV version of the app was just as simple to use, and even allowed me to watch up to four events simultaneously. ESCONDIDO, Calif. (KGTV) - The North County finally has its own comedy club. The Grand Comedy Club opened on Grand Avenue in Escondido late in 2019 and reports growing crowds over its first 10 weeks. "I think people need a good laugh, nowadays. It's really great to see people leaving here happy and telling their friends, and their friends refer their friends. It's great to bring something back to my hometown that the locals really dig and have fun at," said owner Adam Wasserman.Wasserman is a property manager who has performed as a part-time stand up comedian for 11 years. He began thinking of starting his own club, and wanted it to be in Escondido. "You had to go downtown or La Jolla to go to shows. It's a long way to go and and parking and everything. I always thought 'Why was there never a club here in North County?'" Wasserman said.The headliners are typically brought in from Los Angeles, while many of the supporting acts are comedians from San Diego. Wasserman says they're seeing ticket sales from across North County. "We have several nice restaurants, but after you have dinner, that's it. There's nowhere to go," said Escondido resident Jacqueline Lawhorn. "At least now you can come here and enjoy a night of comedy."The opening of the Grand Comedy Club is just the latest step in Escondido's attempt to revitalize its downtown area and make it into more of destination spot. The hope is to give locals an option to spend their money closer to home, and to draw people from neighboring cities into Escondido businesses."You'd have to go to La Jolla or Orange County or whatever," said attendee Gary Arant, who has already gone to several shows at the club.
