(KGTV) — California has already received more than 1.5 million vote-by-mail ballots back with just under three weeks left until the 2020 election.At least 1,511,522 mail-in ballots have been recorded by the state, according to the California Secretary of State office. California sent a mail-in ballot to every active, registered voter due to the coronavirus pandemic, totaling more than 21 million ballots.In San Diego County, as of Sept. 4, there were about 1,869,527 active, registered voters.Voters can still cast their ballot in person or drop off their ballot at an official. An official search to find the closest polling or drop off location to you is available online.New this year, voters across the state can also track their ballot online and find out when it was mailed, received, and counted.According to the San Diego Registrar of Voters' Michael Vu, voters are encouraged to return their ballots with plenty of time to make sure they are counted. Vu says voters should, "clearly mark that ballot, similar to when you’re going to a polling place with an ink pen. Black or blue is preferred."Vu says missing or mismatched signatures, meaning the signature on the ballot doesn’t match the one on file, are one of the most common reasons ballots get disqualified. You can get a low profile," says clinic Marketing Director, Marcell Reyes Vermillion, as he poses for selfies in a bright yellow photo-booth adorned with strings of yellow balls and a yellow shag carpet.The selfie-booth encourages those "cleared for sex" to take a picture for social media."This is a very sex positive message that we're hoping to share with people," said Dr. Susan Little, Professor of Medicine for UC San Diego. "There has been a lot of messaging around disease prevention. And we now have really good drugs, biomedical interventions, to prevent HIV infection among people who are negative. And to prevent transmission among people who are positive." Make no mistake, Dr. Little makes clear the goal is to stop transmission of STDs. Especially HIV among young Hispanic men where cases are still on rise. But Dr. Little says the new approach is to make getting checked an inviting experience, that celebrates health and sex."I think the time as come to let people know they no longer have to worry about disease," says Dr. Little. "We need to try and promote a sex positive, status neutral, sexual health promotion, rather than disease prevention." "Get checked, then you can mate with anyone you want," says Vermillion. If the meters registered 85 decibels or more, the lights were reset and stayed red longer.Another trial at ten more locations is planned for March. (KGTV) - A group of people sprang into action to catch a young girl who slipped off a ski lift in Big Bear.This past weekend, video shot by Instagram user explosive_comics_art showed a 5-year-old girl dangling from a chairlift during an outing at Bear Mountain Ski Resort.Moments later, as the girl was coming dangerously close to falling off, being held by only her hoodie by a ski instructor, according to ABC Los Angeles affiliate KABC, as she dangled above the ground.RELATED: San Diego native and wife caught in Squaw Valley avalancheA group of people below rush off and bring back a tarp to create a safety net for her to drop down to.
