SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A Chollas View elementary school was placed on lockdown Wednesday after reports of an armed man nearby.San Diego Police were called to the area of 45th and Market streets at about 9:30 a.m. over the reported suspect. Chollas-Mead Elementary School was placed on lockdown as police searched the area.Officers arrested an armed man at the scene and were searching for a second suspect who fled the scene, believed to possibly be armed as well, police said.Chollas-Mead Elementary's lockdown was lifted as of 11 a.m. while police continued their search.The outstanding suspect is described as a 6-foot-tall black man, in his 20s, last seen wearing a black shirt and light blue pants, SDPD told City News Service. 736

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A group of local doctors slammed San Diego's Board of Supervisors for not denouncing reported intimidation of the county's public health officer.The San Diego County Medical Society issued a statement, saying they are, "extremely disappointed by the failure of the Members of the San Diego County Board of Supervisors to stand up against the personal abuse, attempted intimidation and doxing of our County Public Health Officer, Dr. Wilma Wooten."SDCMS pointed specifically to public testimony at the BOS' hearing on Tuesday, during which a caller revealed Wooten's address. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A 20-year-old woman claims she was sexually assaulted for about 20 minutes during a Lyft ride in June.She's identified as Jane Roe in a civil lawsuit filed by Estey & Bomberger, LLP on Thursday. Roe tells 10News she has a disability and is unable to drive, she relies on Lyft to get to and from UCSD and around San Diego on a daily basis."I would use Lyft every day for about a year and a half," said Roe. "I would use it about 2-3 times a day."In June, Roe says she was using Lyft to travel from her father's home to her mother's, a 32-minute ride on the Interstate 5 that would forever change her life.RELATED: San Diego women reported in Uber, Lyft sex assault cases"He just asked me inappropriate questions," Roe said, referring to her driver. "He was commenting about inappropriate behaviors that he likes to do."Roe said the driver then told her to sit in the front passenger's seat, and out of fear she complied."The man.. he started touching me.. he groped my vagina, he groped my inner thighs, my thighs, my hamstrings," Roe said. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – A dog was rescued and reunited with his owner after getting into the water off Sunset Cliffs Sunday.The San Diego Fire-Rescue Department said the dog somehow got into the water but could not get back to its owner, prompting two lifeguards to spring into action.The lifeguards helped pull the dog onto a rescue board and brought him safely back to shore.The dog was not hurt.Lifeguards said the area is known to be dangerous for dogs. 460
