(KGTV) — Days after President Trump restored Navy Chief Edward Gallagher's rank after he was convicted of posing with a dead Islamic State captive, Navy officials reportedly intend to review his fitness to serve.According to the New York Times, Navy officials have ordered Gallagher to be appear before leaders Wednesday where they will review his ability to remain a Navy SEAL.The Navy will reportedly also review three SEAL officers who oversaw Gallagher: Lt. Cmdr. Robert Breisch, Lt. Jacob Portier and Lt. Thomas MacNeil.“We have implemented the President’s order to restore Chief Gallagher’s paygrade,” Captain Tamara Lawrence, a spokesperson for Navy Special Warfare Command, told CNN. She added that Rear Adm. Collin Green, the commander of Naval Special Warfare Command, “is responsible for the Naval Special Warfare Force. Given his service to our Nation, a promotion back to the rank and pay grade of Chief Petty Officer is justified."The President's move came after Gallagher was acquitted of six of seven charges related to accusation of murdering a wounded ISIS teenager and shooting at Iraqi civilians. Services marking the arrival of the year 5780 on the Hebrew calendar feature the blowing of the shofar, a ram's horn mentioned in the Torah and used by ancient Jews in religious ceremonies and as a call to arms and now used at Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur. Rosh Hashana is a time when Jews gather with family members and their communities to reflect on the past year and the one beginning. Celebrants also eat festive meals featuring apples dipped in honey, symbolic of the wishes for a sweet year. Rosh Hashana begins a period of contemplation and repentance culminating in Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, Judaism's most solemn and somber day. During the High Holy Days, Jewish tradition holds that God records the fate of each person for the coming year in the Book of Life, which is sealed at the end of Yom Kippur. (KGTV) -- As Californians try to rebound from this pandemic, many have turned to an online group to get answers about unemployment and benefits.Erica Chan started the Facebook group “Unofficial CA unemployment help” in March. She is in the film industry, which has mostly been shut down during this pandemic. With the help of others, like Ruddy Salazar, they have grown the page to more than 40,000 members.Salazar knows the frustration of dealing with the Employment Development Department firsthand. He has been on both disability and unemployment. “I’ve actually had to call three times now. The first two times took around 300 calls,” Salazar said. “I think it’s frustrating to see that this many people need that help. That our government isn’t there,” Chan said. Questions on the Facebook page range from the application process, identity verification, benefit extensions, and how to actually reach someone in the EDD office to help.They hope the group can give people an avenue to avoid having to call the EDD. Chan also started a separate website to help centralize all the questions about unemployment that she has seen over the past several weeks. “I like to feel like we’re providing that kind of service of generating that community and cultivating it,” Salazar said. 1288
