The Cheektowaga, New York mother whose battle with breast cancer captured the hearts of many Western New Yorkers has died. Libby Gaymon, 43, passed away Tuesday. She had faced breast cancer twice in less than two years.In May, Libby's daughter Alexis asked her mom to be her date to the senior prom at McKinley High School in Buffalo. The surprise promposal was a well-coordinated effort between Alexis, her family and McKinley administrators. Alexis wanted to bring her mother because Libby didn't get to go to the prom when she was in school.On prom night, dozens of supporters of Libby packed the Gaymons' front lawn, some spilling onto the sidewalk and neighboring lawns to cheer on the mother-daughter duo.McKinley High School donated a limousine, while other community members offered free wig services, makeup application and corsage supply to make the night even more special.Most recently, Gaymon tried an experimental immunotherapy treatment at Roswell Park. Immunotherapy helps the body’s immune system attack cancer cells. It is still being studied nationwide to see if it can play a role in treating metastatic breast cancer.   Her message she shared with Buffalo-based WKBW anchor Ashley Rowe in September was clear: slow down and take time to appreciate the world around you, or else you’ll miss everything.“You’re walking down the street on the phone, either you’re on the phone or you’re texting and you’re not even seeing your surroundings," Libby said. The Ebola virus outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo has killed 33 people, the World Health Organization said Sunday.An additional 43 suspected cases of Ebola were reported, including 13 confirmed by lab testing, according to WHO.The outbreak is spreading through five health zones in North Kivu province and one health zone in Ituri province, which poses geographic and political challenges, the WHO said. The Coca-Cola Co. says it’s laying off 2,200 workers, or 17% of its global workforce, as part of a larger restructuring aimed at paring down its brands.The company said around 1,200 of the layoffs will occur in the U.S., with around 500 of those eliminated in Atlanta, where the company is based.These layoffs come after the beverage company offered buyouts to about 4,000 employees in August. The Dan Ryan Expressway roars with cars that feature the power of hundreds of horses. But on Monday, a man and a lone horse disrupted traffic at rush hour.News helicopters followed a man going down the busy freeway late Monday afternoon riding the horse. Police followed the man off the freeway on the city’s south side.Footage then showed the man jumping off the horse and being detained. The Illinois State Police confirmed that Adam Hollingsworth was arrested on three criminal counts. The counts were for reckless conduct, disobeying a police officer and criminal trespass of state-supported property.He was accompanied by several others on motorcycles.Another man, Darron Luster, was arrested for obstruction and resisting arrest. Police accused Luster of trying to gain control of the horse, and disobeyed officers who asked him released the horse.The Illinois State Police confirmed the horse sustained several injuries, including bleeding from the left hoof, the right hoof was injured, and the right side of the horse’s body had sores from the saddle. The horse was taken to Animal Care and Control.The Illinois State Police said that it had met with Hollingsworth on Sept. 9 as he planned on staging a protest on the interstate. The police told Hollingsworth that “he would not be allowed on the Dan Ryan Expressway because it is dangerous and illegal for pedestrians to access the expressway in that manner.”According to CNN, Hollingsworth — also known as the "Dreadhead Cowboy" — was attempting to raise awareness for the U.S. Census so his community could receive more funding for children's services. 1622

"Crude has gotten caught up in the flight from equities."In the span of just seven weeks, crude has gone from spiking to nosediving into a bear market.
