HEAR clips from the 911 calls in the video above.COLERAIN TOWNSHIP, Ohio -- A 911 call reveals a desperate dad's anguish and an unusual twist as he chased the thief who stole his SUV with his three kids inside Saturday afternoon. The panicked dad was riding with another driver he apparently didn't know. The good Samaritan driver said he saw the thief take off from the parking lot in a suburb of Cincinnati and told the dad to get in his car. Then they chased him together."Oh my god, he stole my truck! My kids are in the truck!" a man who identified himself as Courtney Wells yelled in a 911 call. "I'm in the car with somebody. We're chasing him. He stole my kids! Please, I got three kids in that car."The dispatcher asked Wells to calm down and tell him where they were driving. After a few moments, Wells came to a shocking realization."Did he turn? Oh my god, I think we lost him," Wells cried. The driver told the 911 dispatcher that he just happened to be there when the thief took off."I saw what happened so I said, 'Come on!"The thief sped off and crossed the center line several times trying to elude them, police said."We were so close. We were right there ... Oh, god, he was flying," the driver said on the 911 call. The suspect got away from them, but all ended well when the children - two 4-year-olds and a 1-year-old - were found safe and the suspect was arrested, police said.Someone claiming to be the father later posted a Facebook message that thanked the driver who helped him. He mentioned that the driver is wanted by police."Thankyu big s/o for all the help. He chasin this car down wit 5 warrants ... God was watching ova my babies," the post said.Police said 33-year-old Howard Mullis stole the SUV just before 2 p.m. after the father went in the Pit Stop convenience store. Police said he left the engine running with the three kids in the backseat.Mullis had been hanging around outside the store for hours, said an onlooker."The guy had been sitting right in front of this trash can all morning long, so I guess he was just waiting on somebody to pull up," said Keith Lipscomb.Another man said he heard the commotion in the parking lot. He got choked up talking about it."I heard somebody hollering and screaming that they are stealing my car and they have my kids in the car," said Dennis Cooke. "You got me kind of teary-eyed. Thinking about that ... it could have been my kids."A harrowing 2 1/2 hours later, the children and the SUV were found about a mile away at 8401 Colerain Ave., outside America’s Best Contacts & Eyeglasses, near Walmart. #BREAKING: Colerain police spokesperson tells me this is the suspect who is wanted for kidnapping 3 children @WCPO pic.twitter.com/A5Ks58kshR— Ashley Zilka (@ashleyzilka) March 3, 2018 2891

Here are today's headlines in the political world, Sunday, March 11, 2018.President Trumps slams NY Times article-- President Donald Trump tweeted attacks Sunday aimed at the New York Times over reports the president is unhappy with his legal team.Trump denied the reports, calling the NY Times article "a false story.""The Failing New York Times purposely wrote a false story stating that I am unhappy with my legal team on the Russia case and am going to add another lawyer to help out. Wrong. I am very happy with my lawyers, John Dowd, Ty Cobb and Jay Sekulow," President Trump tweeted. "They are doing a great job and have shown conclusively that there was no collusion with Russia."Trump added "the only Collusion was that done by the DNC, the Democrats and Crooked Hillary. The writer of the story, Maggie Haberman, a Hillary flunky, knows nothing about me and is not given access."Haberman's article claims the president is looking to shake up his legal team and is in talks with Emmet T. Flood, a lawyer who represented Bill Clinton during his impeachment process.Trump stumps for House GOP candidate, touts 202 reelection campaign 1163

Goldman Sachs' chief economist says if masks were required across the country, it could save the U.S. economy from a 5% loss.According to Forbes and CNBC, Jan Hatzius said in a note to clients that a nationwide mask requirement would prevent the spread of COVID-19 and prevent the need for further lockdown restrictions."We find that face masks are associated with significantly better coronavirus outcomes," Hatzius said. "Our baseline estimate is that a national mandate could raise the percentage of people who wear masks by 15 [percentage points] and cut the daily growth rate of confirmed cases by 1.0 [percentage point] to 0.6%. These calculations imply that a face mask mandate could potentially substitute for lockdowns that would otherwise subtract nearly 5% from GDP."According to the Bureau of Economic Analysis, the U.S. GDP totaled about .54 trillion in the First Quarter of 2020. According to Hatzius' analysis, not instituting a national mask requirement would cost the U.S. economy just over trillion.Several studies show that a mask or facial covering limits the wearer from spreading airborne droplets when speaking, sneezing or coughing. The coronavirus can live outside the body in these droplets for several hours and, in turn, infect other people — even before the person who spread the droplets has exhibited symptoms of COVID-19.Earlier this year, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued guidance that strongly recommended all Americans over the age of 2 wear masks in public, particularly in situations that would make social distancing impossible. However, it's stopped short of requiring masks. The CDC also says those who have trouble breathing should not wear a mask if it puts the wearers' health at risk.President Donald Trump has left individual states to issue mask requirements as they see fit, but has notably chafed at wearing face coverings during public appearances. He has also declined to require masks at his indoor rallies.About one-third of states across the country currently require masks when in public. Forty-six states require masks in certain instances. Presumptive Democratic Presidential Nominee Joe Biden has said he would make masks a requirement for the remainder of the pandemic should he be elected president. 2298

Hillary Clinton tweeted her support on Wednesday of 11-year-old Mariana Taylor, who was reprimanded by her teacher in a Maryland school for kneeling during the Pledge of Allegiance. The former secretary of state and 2016 Democratic Party nominee for president said on Wednesday, "It takes courage to exercise your right to protest injustice, especially when you’re 11! Keep up the good work Mariana."Mariana's parents have joined with the ACLU after her teacher allegedly reprimanded the Catonsville, Md. sixth grader. Mariana, a student in the Baltimore County School District, has a rule that stipulates that students and staff must "stand and face the flag and while standing give an approved salute and recite in unison the Pledge of Allegiance."The next line of the rule does stipulate, however, "Any student or staff member who wishes to be excused from the flag salute shall be excused."Jay Jimenez of the Maryland ACLU spoke on the policy at a recent district board meeting, urging the board to clarify the district's policy.  "I decided to kneel because there is a lot of things I really don't agree with in the country happening - racism, sexism and the person in the White House, particularly the wall - it's not ok," Mariana said in May. "I feel like it's important to stand up for what I believe in and I want to inspire other people to do it too."According to the ACLU, Mariana was in tears after leaving the classroom as her teacher pushed to have her make a presentation explaining her actions to the class. After Mariana's parents were called by a school guidance counselor, her parents claimed there was confusion on whether students were allowed to forego the Pledge of Allegiance. "The Supreme Court has been very clear that students do not lose their First Amendment rights when they enter the schoolhouse door," Jimenez said. "The ACLU urges Baltimore County and all Maryland schools to review and update their policies to honor respectful student activism in the future, like silently ‘taking a knee' during the Pledge of Allegiance."The school's principal told the Washington Post that he agreed that the district's policy needed to be clarified.  2219
