GAINESBORO, Tenn. — A trapped diver from the United Kingdom has been safely rescued Wednesday evening in Jackson County, Tennessee. Josh Bratchley was rescued just before 7 p.m. at the Mill Pond Cave in Gainesboro. Bratchley was evaluated by medical crews on scene and refused medical treatment. Bratchley was one of the rescue divers who saved a Thailand Soccer team from a cave last year.Around 1 a.m. Wednesday, Jackson County 911 received a call about an unaccounted-for man in the area of Mill Pond Cave at Flynn's Lick of Gainesboro.Responders on the scene learned a group of tourists from the United Kingdom had been diving in and exploring the Mill Pond Cave for the past few days.When the tourists returned from a dive around 3 p.m. Tuesday, they could not account for one of the members of their group. They attempted another dive to find their missing friend prior to calling 911.A press conference will be held later Wednesday. 951

Former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg has decided against running for president in 2020, he announced on Tuesday."As I've thought about a possible presidential campaign, the choice before me has become clear. Should I devote the next two years to talking about my ideas and record, knowing that I might never win the Democratic nomination? Or should I spend the next two years doubling down on the work that I am already leading and funding, and that I know can produce real and beneficial results for the country, right now? I've come to realize that I'm less interested in talking than doing," he wrote in an opinion piece for Bloomberg."And I have concluded that, for now, the best way for me to help our country is by rolling up my sleeves and continuing to get work done."Bloomberg publicly speculated about a 2020 bid for months, traveling the country to meet with voters and determine whether a bid was possible.Bloomberg told reporters during this public speculation that he was seriously considering a bid, to the point that he decided he would self-fund a campaign."In terms of running for office, I ran three times. Forgetting to keep your Christmas tree watered could have deadly consequences, according to the National Fire Protection Association. According to the NFPA, nearly 160 house fires per year are sparked by Christmas trees. These fires caused an average of three deaths, 15 injuries, and million in direct property damage annually, the NFPA said. A plurality of Christmas tree fires from 2013 through 2017, roughly 44 percent, were caused by electrical distribution or lighting within the tree. Another 25 percent of Christmas tree fires were from a heat source, such as a candle, being too close to a tree. The NFPA also found that 21 percent of Christmas tree fires were intentionally set. In 2017, the National Institute of Science and Technology released a video showing the fire danger a tree not watered can pose. The video showed that a spark to a dry tree could ignite an entire tree within several seconds, engulfing an entire room seconds later. A watered tree failed to ignite in the same fashion. Although buying an artificial tree likely decreases the risk of a fire, for every three fires sparked by a real Christmas tree, one is caused by an artificial tree.The National Fire Protection Association released Christmas tree fire prevention tips:· Choose a tree with fresh, green needles that do not fall off when touched.· Before placing the tree in the stand, cut 2” from the base of the trunk.· Make sure the tree is at least three feet away from any heat source, like fireplaces, radiators, candles, heat vents or lights.· Make sure the tree is not blocking an exit.· Add water to the tree stand. Be sure to add water daily.· Use lights that have the label of a recognized testing laboratory. Some lights are only for indoor or outdoor use.· Replace any string of lights with worn or broken cords or loose bulb connections. GREENCASTLE — A Greencastle, Indiana, man allegedly used a hidden cellphone to take videos of women using a portable bathroom at the recent football game between Wabash College and DePauw University in Greencastle. Putnam County court records show 31-year-old Logan Campbell faces charges of Voyeurism, Public Voyeurism, and Criminal Trespass.According to the Putnam County Prosecutor and local police, Campbell hid a camera in a portable bathroom. It was discovered by a woman who was using the facility. She realized the phone's video camera was on and went to police who were able to trace it to Campbell who was at the game.Police determined there was video from the camera showing two women using the bathroom—including the woman who found the phone.Campbell, according to the police report, denied wrongdoing and said he had lost the camera.
