SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Police are looking for the thief who committed a brazen robbery at a South Park metaphysical shop, stealing a ,000 crystal ball in broad daylight in front of store staff and other customers.The theft occurred Monday afternoon around 12:30 p.m. at Crystal Blue Vibrations, San Diego Police said. "This was a lot worse than we thought," co-owner Andrew Lucas told 10News. "That's when we went to the video tape and it showed everything."The thief could be seen casually walking through the store, chatting with an employee behind the counter. He then walked over to the front display, which included several large crystal spheres. He reached in to grab an expensive one, but knocked over a shelf, leaving shattered glass all over and drawing the attention of the employee. However, it appears the employee did not realize the man was attempting to steal the item. While the employee was focused on cleaning up the mess, the the thief can be seen grabbing the crystal ball, placing it on the ground, dribbling it like a soccer ball to the front door, then bending over to pick it up and walk out. "I thought I'd seen it all," Lucas said. "Yeah, it's pretty brazen. It's heartbreaking."Lucas says he plans to limit how much access customers have to certain items in the future. "And more security, but I guess that's what the world is coming to."A police report has been filed. Lucas hopes someone may recognize the thief from the surveillance video and will come forward to identify him. 1513

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Police are searching for a sexual assault suspect who forced a woman into his truck and drove to another area to assault her this week.The suspect drove alongside the 27-year-old woman in the 3900 block of Delta Street just before 11:30 p.m. Thursday, San Diego Police said. The man exited the truck and threatened to use a Taser on the woman if she didn't comply with his demands.Police said he forced the woman into his truck, drove to an unknown area near 39th St. and Broadway, and sexually assaulted the woman. He then drove to the area of 32nd St. and National Ave. and let the woman go after she pleaded with him, police said.The man is described as a black male between 40- and 50-years-old, with short black hair, and a graying goatee. He weighs an estimated 160 to 170 pounds and stands about 5-foot, 6-inches tall. He was last seen wearing a black or dark blue t-shirt and gray basketball shorts.The man's vehicle is described as an older model white extended-cab pickup truck, possibly with a blue stripe on the side.Chula Vista Police reported a similar incident with a similarly described suspect and vehicle happened in their area. Video captured the vehicle in the vicinity of the E St. trolley station in Chula Vista. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - One man was injured in a stabbing in Spring Valley Sunday evening, according to the San Diego Sheriff's Department.Deputies said that a man between the ages of 40 and 50 was transported to the hospital after another man stabbed him, and he is expected to survive.The call to the residence near Dale Avenue and S. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- More than 20 people were arrested in San Diego as part of a statewide sanctuary enforcement operation carried out by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents.ICE officials said the arrests were made between Sept. 28 and Oct. 2, with the focus on “criminal aliens and individuals who have violated U.S. immigration laws.”According to officials, arrests were made in San Diego, Encinitas, Vista, Lakeside, National City, Poway, Fallbrook, Spring Valley, Escondido, Oceanside, and San Marcos.In a news release, ICE officials said:“Of those arrested, 10 were the direct result of sanctuary state laws that force local law enforcement not to honored a lawfully issued immigration detainer. Two arrests were the direct result of the law enforcement agency releasing the individuals prior to ICE being able to place an immigration detainer on their case.Of those arrested, over 80 percent had prior criminal convictions and/or pending criminal charges. Of those, the criminal offenses included Lewd and Lascivious Acts with a minor under 14 with Force, Domestic Violence, Assault, Possession of Control Substance for Sale, Possession of Control Substance, Vehicle Theft, Burglary, and Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol.One individual who was arrested during the operation will face federal criminal prosecution for having illegally re-entered the U.S. after their removal. Those who were primary targets of this operation have final orders of removal issued by a federal immigration judge. Their due process was completed, and they will be removed from the United States. The individuals who were arrested and require adjudication from an immigration judge will be placed in detention pending the outcome of their removal proceedings.”Gregory Archambeault, Field Office Director for ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations in San Diego, said, “The State of California has chosen to prohibit local law enforcement agencies from cooperating with ICE to protect public safety. These local agencies are forced to release criminal aliens to the street, abandoning the victims of crimes and the innocent members of their communities.
