Witnesses described hearing a loud boom Thursday and moments later, finding victims, including construction workers, strewn throughout the wreckage. Other people were trapped in cars, they said.Giovanni Hernandez said it "sounded like a bomb, like multiple bombs in one.""It sounded like the world was ending, and when you look back, all you see is the bridge on the floor. It was awful," he told CNN affiliate WSVN. Sweetwater police Sgt. Jenna Mendez was stopped at a red light one intersection away when she saw the bridge crumble. At first, she thought, "Why would they have brought the bridge down during the day?"Mendez drove forward, saw crushed vehicles and realized "this was not on purpose, this was a catastrophe," she told CNN.She rushed into the debris and saw injured construction workers atop the detritus, she said. Two men had broken bones, and two others were unconscious -- one who wasn't breathing and the other with a major cut to this head. Mendez started chest compressions on the one who wasn't breathing, she said."I started yelling to civilians in the crowd, 'Please get me doctors. ... I need help up here.' A doctor jumped up, and she started helping," Mendez said.Doctors and medical students ran to the scene from a nearby building and started treating victims, said Isabella Carrasco, a student at the University of Miami who had passed under the bridge in a car just before the collapse.Carrasco saw at least five cars crushed beneath the bridge, she said."Someone on the side of the road had asked a police officer if she had heard any response from the people inside the car," Carrasco said, "and she shook her head and said no."Kendall Regional Medical Center received 10 patients, including two in critical condition, said Dr. Mark G. McKenney, the trauma medical director. 1808

You help the environment. “Clothing reuse is very important for our planet,” says Margaret Engel, co-author of “ThriftStyle: The Ultimate Bargain Shopper’s Guide to Smart Fashion.” Buying used clothes — and donating your own — keeps them from landfills and conserves the energy needed to manufacture them. So as you thrift, “think of yourself as an environmental warrior,” she says. You snag deals. Catch the thrifting bug, and you may wonder why you ever paid full price for clothes. Engel, for example, bought a ballgown by the designer Marchesa for on the sale rack of a consignment store. (A bit of Used Clothing 101: Consignment stores resell clothes that are typically more expensive and higher quality than those at huge nonprofit chains, such as Goodwill.)The  Marchesa gown (Photo courtesy of Margaret Engel)Not in the market for ballgowns? Engel points out that most thrift and consignment stores sell all the basic clothes items you could need and have whole sections of office wear. And, of course, these clothes are all sold at steep discounts from the original price. You can find high-quality clothes. New clothes can be expensive. Even if you opt for the low prices (and low durability) of “fast fashion” stores like H&M, Forever 21 and Zara, you often get what you pay for. Those suit pants may cost only , for example, but they may not fit perfectly or live to see your next interview — when you’ll have to buy new suit pants. But at used-clothing stores, your money can go further, Engel says. Many consignment stores aim to sell only high-quality garments made to last, at resale prices. You can unearth these gems at thrift stores, too, if you’re up for digging through their wider-ranging selections. If necessary, you can use the money saved by buying used to get these more valuable items altered. As Engel puts it: “You can buy couture clothing for your budget.” 1927

When Saturday rolled around, Isaiah was still in the hospital but was offered a Packers day pass. "A limo picked us up and brought us to the happiest place on earth. We love our Packers," Amy said. The family took a tour of Lambeau, watched practice and ate lunch with the Packers. Amy said they mostly ate with Rodgers and Boyle. Isaiah also got a swag bag, pictures and autographs. 382

Yale Law School students are representing the veterans and have filed a similar lawsuit against the Army. They say nearly a third of the more than 2 million Americans who served in Iraq or Afghanistan suffer from PTSD and related mental health conditions and the military is issuing less-than-honorable discharges at historically high rates, often for minor infractions attributable to undiagnosed mental illness. 413
