(KGTV) - Family and friends are preparing to say goodbye to a Poway teen, killed while driving home from college for Christmas break."She always brings a positive vibe wherever she goes. Her smile can really brighten up the room," said friend Brandon Kim.For the friends of Kim Huynh, smiles for them are hard to muster."To me it was just shock," said Kim.Last Thursday night, the 18-year-old Huynh was driving back home to Poway with her older sister after finishing her first quarter at UC Riverside, when the car spun out on a Murietta highway, slamming into a tree and killing her. Her sister suffered minor injuries. The cause of the crash remains under investigation."She was one of my closest friends," said Kim. Kim met Huynh in grade school."Super smart. Ten times smarter than me," said Kim.Kim said his friend also had a joyful side and loved having fun. Huynh danced for one of Rancho Bernardo High's dance teams. After graduating, she enrolled at UC Riverside on scholarship. The pre-med student also hoped to help her immigrant parents."She said she wanted to become a doctor to give back to them for taking such good care of her," said Kim.After her death, friends gathered this weekend to remember a promising life cut short."Everybody broke down ... I want to grow up with everyone. The fact I have to leave someone behind breaks my heart," said Kim.The funeral is planned for Thursday. POWAY, Calif. (KGTV) -- A man is dead following a fatal crash in the 12900 block of Community Road, near Civic Center Drive. The Sheriff's department says a speeding vehicle was driving northbound on Community Road when it hit another vehicle, causing several other crashes. The driver of one vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene and several other people were injured.Community Road was closed in both directions during the initial investigation.The Sheriff's Traffic Accident Reconstruction team was called to the scene and the investigation is ongoing.Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477.Video from Sky10 shows the scene of the crash. President Donald Trump lashed out at California Gov. (KGTV) — North County residents forced to use bottled water following a boil water advisory will have to wait a little longer to return to the tap.The City of Poway issued a boil water advisory on Saturday after learning that a recent storm may have compromised the potable drinking water system. Tuesday, the city said two tests showed water meets industry standards and was absent of bacteria. Though the tests are positive, the city says they will continue the advisory per state protocols. Officials were not able to offer a timeline as to when the advisory would be lifted. Poway had said the order could last up to five days.RELATED: Poway school district sends parents action plan after water boil advisory issuedUntil the advisory ends, residents should use bottled water or boil tap water for drinking or cooking. Officials say water should be boiled for a minute and that it's still safe to shower.As the boil order continued Tuesday, many local small business owners are growing more concerned.At Poway's Round Table Pizza, employees were able to operate on a limited menu and modified permit thanks to help from a neighboring location in Rancho Bernardo. They were one of the few local restaurants able to stay open.But across town, Pacific Pizza owner John Crosser says he's lost thousands after having to throw out dough used with water before the order was issued Saturday."Trying to get things rolling, get cash flow rolling and stuff, and then when you lose two or three days of sales and then everybody still expects all their bills have to be paid, rent has to be paid ... if it continues it could be catastrophic, it really could," Crosser said.Crosser says he's sanitized everything and is ready to reopen, but is still waiting for the green light from the city.Bottled water will continue to be distributed at Lake Poway and City Hall from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.
