The State Council, or China's cabinet, on Sunday announced a plan to merge the country's press and broadcasting regulators to oversee the press, publication, radio, film and television sectors as part of efforts to cut red tape and reduce administrative intervention.

Xi said China and the United States have enormous common interests, but also differences.
The two countries need to boost bilateral people-to-people exchanges and carry on their traditional friendship, said the Chinese president, adding that China will set up a Chinese culture center in Tanzania.
After wrapping up the Latin America tour, Xi arrived in the U.S. state of California on Thursday and had a two-day meeting with Obama at Sunnylands in Rancho Mirage, California on June 7-8.
