"We know there is a little fatigue setting in, people are tired. We also know that attitudes are hardening."It's going to be difficult. It's going to be tough."RELATED: 'The rules are changing once again' Mayor Kevin Faulconer responds to Newsom's new shutdownsSan Diego County public health officials reported a record 2,287 new coronavirus cases on Saturday, bringing the local total to 90,468 cases and beating Friday's record number of daily cases. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego Harbor Police have cited a charter company for violating the county's health order. A sergeant for Harbor PD confirmed with 10News that Flagship Cruises and Events was cited for being in violation. The county health order states that recreational boating is allowed provided all occupants of a boat are from the same household.10News cameras were rolling as people walked onto the Flagship Cruises and Events dock and onto the company's Spirit of San Diego, capturing the boat's departure and arrival back into the bay. It is unclear if those boarding were all members of one family. 10News reached out to the company and a spokesperson sent us a picture of the county health order saying "We are stating we are part of section 14E, not C. That section states in part, "other public or private outdoor recreational facilities (other than community pools per State order), including recreational equipment (such as bicycle, boat, kayak, equestrian and surfboard) rentals may be open for limited use."Flagship's website states, "We are Open" and has several sections outlining how they are operating during the pandemic. One section states that masks are required for passengers and everyone must respect six-feet social distancing guidelines. The website also states that all employees will be in masks, gloves and screen upon arrival. Also adding that the company is limiting the number of passengers per cruise to allow for maximum distancing and that they've invested in new machinery to sanitize all chairs between cruises. Harbor Police says the citation for violating the county health order has a maximum fine of a thousand dollars and up to a year in jail. 1702

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Ridership of dockless scooters and bikes has dropped off dramatically since the summer.New data from the city says 222,076 people rode the vehicles in the two week period ending Oct. 15. That was down from 441,830 rides from July 15 to July 30. "When I first started they were littered everywhere," said Kelly Callaghan, who rides scooters in Pacific Beach. "It's pretty insane how the change happened like this."On Monday, only a handful of people could be spotted riding dockless scooters in some of San Diego's most traveled areas, including downtown and the Mission Beach and Pacific Beach boardwalks. The change could be due to more than just the summer being over.In July, the city instituted new rules that — among other things — required scooter operators to use geofencing technology to reduce speeds on the waterfront and boardwalks to 3 miles per hour. Additionally, police have issued 383 citations and the city has impounded 3,733 devices. So far, two operators have pulled out, and a city hearing office may revoke Lime's permit within the next 30 days. In a statement, Lime said it hopes to continue operating in San Diego“We’re proud of our partnership with the City of San Diego and we believe the evidence presented demonstrates that Lime is the most compliant scooter operator in the city," the company said. "We look forward to addressing all concerns, proving our compliance, and continuing to serve the San Diego community.”On Monday, the City Council approved a response to a grand jury report that said in part the city should increase scooter enforcement. Recommendations to make changes to the city rules could come in the next 30 days. 1690

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diegans have every opportunity to get moving as the new year gets underway.America's Finest City was recently ranked by financial website WalletHub as the ninth most active city in the U.S. The study examined 100 cities around the country, comparing them on metrics including the presence of fitness centers and sports facilities, costs of fitness memberships, trail availability, and share of inactive adults. The metrics were then organized under either "budget and participation" and "sports and outdoors."San Diego ranked first in fitness centers and sports centers per capita, seventh in baseball and softball diamonds per capita, 22nd in basketball hoops per capita, 16th in parkland acres per capita, and 30th in walking. Those rankings brought the city's budget and participation rank to 27 and sports and outdoors rank to eight.RELATED: 7 unique workouts in San Diego to start the year strongChula Vista was also ranked on the study, though at a distant 79, ranking 25th in budget and participation and 87 in sports and outdoors. So where is the most active city located, according to WalletHub? You'll have to fly over to Honolulu, Hawaii, where the city ranked first in sports and outdoors. While Honolulu ranked 47th in budget and participation, the prevalence of sports and fitness facilities sent the city to the top of the rankings. The only California city to score above San Diego was San Francisco, ranked third on the list. 1471

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego County announced Wednesday if the county continues to hit state triggers with the spread of the coronavirus, museums, zoos and aquariums could be on the long list of closures Monday. The measures apply to any indoor activities.Balboa Park just reopened the Air and Space Museum two weeks ago, after everything closed down in March due to the pandemic."We want to make sure people come back to the park, it is the cultural heart of San Diego," Executive Director of the Balboa Park Cultural Partnership Peter Comiskey said.Comiskey said this weekend more of our favorite museums are set to open. Friday the Science Center, the Veterans Museum, the Natural History Museum and the International Gift Shop are set to reopen, with three more museums opening Saturday July 4.The possibility those openings could be short-lived is something Comiskey says they're ready for."We're certainly hoping all the people of San Diego County are really able to pull together and make sure the infection rate and the case load and all these lovely metrics, these important metrics can be contained and can be controlled," he said hopefully.Comiskey said if they have to close Monday after putting so many precautions and time in to ensure the park is safe, they will.Looking to the future, he said they're brainstorming how to bring in money to help these cherished icons survive."I think as time goes on we need to look at what fund-raising is possible, I think we need to look with those organizations that rely on revenue through the gate." He said they will have conversations in the near future on supplementing the organizations' lost income. 1666
