That's something tangible he can carry into his first start in the 2018 World Series.Expecting the veteran left-hander to be this effective in the Fall Classic might be unrealistic, but a better version of Price than his typical postseason self would make a big difference for the Red Sox in the next round.Nathan Eovaldi has never pitched in a World Series, and Rick Porcello's playoff starts with Boston have been a mixed bag. Most importantly, Chris Sale has a stomach illness that kept him out of starting Game 5.If the Red Sox can count on Price, they'll have one fewer question mark surrounding their starting rotation.Astros Primed to Contend Again in 2019Sometimes, baseball isn't fair.As great as the Astros played this year, history wasn't on their side. MLB will now go 18 years without a repeat World Series champion.The good news for Houston is that it has a good chance to return to the playoffs and make another title challenge in 2019.The Astros could see some experienced veterans depart in free agency. Marwin Gonzalez, Charlie Morton, Evan Gattis, Tony Sipp and Dallas Keuchel are all hitting the open market in the offseason.The Justin Verlander trade—the Astros absorbed  million from his contract—showed ownership is willing to make the financial commitment necessary to put together a championship-caliber roster. Houston may wind up losing one or more of its free agents, but it shouldn't be a mass exodus.The Astros' returning stars aren't due to decline in 2019, either. Jose Altuve and George Springer are the elder statesmen yet are only 28 and 29, respectively. Alex Bregman, who enjoyed a breakout in 2018, will turn 25 in March. Carlos Correa turned 24 last month.Regarding the rotation, Gerrit Cole averaged a career-high 12.4 strikeouts per nine innings and saw his FIP fall from 4.08 in 2017 to 2.70, per Baseball Reference. A free agent in 2020, Cole could well repeat that success next season.And the 35-year-old Verlander continues to defy the aging curve. Maybe he'll fall off in 2019, but it feels like that has been a possibility for the last three or four years.Luck is a factor in determining a team's fate. But strictly from a roster point of view, the pieces are there for the Astros to play in October next season.Red Sox Offense Looks Unstoppable Heading into World SeriesThe Astros surrendered eight combined runs in their first four playoff wins. Beto O'Rourke, topping him 52% to 45% among likely voters, a new CNN poll conducted by SSRS finds.Just 9% of likely Texas voters say there's a chance they could change their mind about the Senate contest before Election Day, although O'Rourke's voters are more apt to be locked in to their choice (92% say their minds are made up) than are Cruz's backers (87% say they've made a final decision).The two candidates are set to debate Tuesday night, and O'Rourke will participate in a CNN town hall later this week. O'Rourke's challenge has drawn tens of millions in donations, forcing Republicans to play defense in one of the few Republican Senate seats in play this election cycle. President Donald Trump even plans to host a rally for his former rival's benefit.The President could be an asset among those planning to vote in Texas. Trump's approval rating is net negative statewide, with 50% of adults disapproving of his handling of the presidency vs. 41% who approve. Among likely voters, however, 49% approve of Trump's job performance and 48% disapprove.The gender gap in this race is tighter than what CNN has measured in nationwide polling on the House generic ballot and in other Senate contests. In four other critical battlegrounds, the gender gap has been 30 points or higher in three states, and stood at 21 in the fourth. In this contest, it's a narrower 18 points. O'Rourke holds just a 2-point edge among women, the smallest for a Democrat among women in the states CNN has polled so far. Dean Heller.In Texas, the race gap appears more meaningful than the gender gap. Latino voters break sharply in O'Rourke's favor, 62% to 35%, while white voters favor Cruz by a 2-to-1 margin, 66% to 33%.Likely voters in Texas place immigration at the top of their issue list: 26% call it the most important issue in deciding their vote, while 23% call the economy their top priority. The Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation has established a fund worth more than million to aid organizations fighting institutional racism, in the wake of the George Floyd protests.On Wednesday, the foundation, which has been influential in the emergence of the broader Black Lives Matter movement, said it was setting aside million in donations to support black-led grassroots organizing groups. Last week, it unveiled a separate .5 million fund for its network of affiliate chapters.Beginning July 1, affiliated chapters can apply for unrestricted funding of up to 0,000 in multi-year grants, the foundation announced. Tara Batista spent a week in the hospital after visiting one of her favorite spas for a pedicure. Now she's tethered to a picc line for six weeks and under the daily care of a home health nurse.Batista, who sings at Puerto Rican festivals, says the ordeal has turned her life upside down emotionally, physically and economically.Tampa-based WFTS asked if there was anything different about this pedicure and Batista said she told the woman working on her feet to ease up a bit because it felt like the instruments were digging too far into her skin.Batista says she began to feel weak hours after leaving Nail Image in Tampa. By the next day she experienced extreme fatigue and pains began shooting up her leg.A day and a half later family members drove Batista to the emergency room when part of her foot turned black and she could not stand on her left leg. Doctors diagnosed her with a severe infection. Batista underwent surgery and remained in the hospital for a week. WFTS obtained her medical records which cite a deep injury triggered by a bacterial infection on her left big toe.WFTS took the hospital report to Nail Image along with the receipt from her pedicure. The owner refused to comment. There is no conclusive proof that the pedicure caused the infection.Lee Timberlake instructs students at the Artistic Nails and Beauty academy in Tampa. She spends 155 hours of a 240 hour curriculum teaching sanitizing and disinfecting procedures.Timberlake who has taught nail technicians for 10 years says instruments should be scrubbed then placed into a disinfectant between every customer.
