SHANGHAI, Oct. 14 (Xinhua) -- The government of Shanghai, the largest metropolis in eastern China, plans to require users of matchmaking websites to register their real names, a move to make those websites a more honest and ordered community, authorities said on Friday.The environment of the matchmaking websites is chaotic and the anonymity afforded by the Internet opens the door to cybercrimes such as fraud, said Zhou Juemin, chairperson of Shanghai Matchmaking Organization Administration Association.Officials with the Shanghai Civil Affairs Bureau said people who put up personal ads in newspapers may also be requested to use their real names in the future.China's matchmaking industry has been thriving in recent years as the country is witnessing an increase in the number of singles. Statistics from the All-China Women's Federation shows China currently has around 180 million singles.
TEHRAN, Oct. 9 (Xinhua) -- Iran is going to launch domestically- built Navid satellite by Safir satellite launcher by the end of March 2012, the semi-official Mehr news agency reported on Sunday.Navid (promise) is a research satellite and is currently undergoing pre-launch tests, said the report without further details.In June, Iran put the Rasad (surveillance) satellite in the orbit to render images to the country.Iran put a satellite into orbit in 2009 and sent some small animals into space in 2010. (HP) on Thursday introduced its Slate 2 Tablet PC, a business-targeted tablet computer running Windows operating system.Looking like the previous version, Slate 2, featuring an 8.9- inch screen, is upgraded with Intel Atom Z670 processor to deliver faster boot times and improved battery life up to six hours, said HP.It also has a Bluetooth keyboard dock and Swype keyboard which allows users to enter words by sliding a finger or stylus from letter to letter, lifting only between words.The device will be available to customers worldwide for 699 U.S. dollars later this month, according to HP.Slate 500, Slate 2's previous generation running Windows, was introduced last October and sold exclusively to businesses for 800 dollars upon launch.HP said in a statement that the Slate 2 tablet provides instant deployment for business and vertical markets such as education, healthcare, government and retail, where jobs frequently take users away from a traditional desk.The company on Thursday also announced HP 3115m, a new notebook PC targeting business, education and government customers. NANJING, Jan. 7 (Xinhua) -- Police authorities in China's eastern Jiangsu Province on Sunday intensified their search for the suspect in an armed robbery in the province.Police have increased patrol and initiated a blanket search for the male suspect, who shot and robbed a man in front of a bank in Nanjing, the provincial capital, on Friday, the provincial public security bureau said in a statement.In Nanjing, special armed police and police cars have blocked major roads, with many others searching in public places. Two helicopters are used to facilitate the search.The provincial police authorities also offered a reward of 100,000 yuan (15,850 U.S. dollars) for information leading to the arrest of the man believed to be in his 40s.The suspect shot a man who had just finished withdrawing 200,000 yuan in front of a bank on Nanjing's Dongmen Street at 9:50 a.m. Friday.
