Google has rolled out a new feature on its Maps app: traffic lights at intersections.Users on an Android and IOS will be able to see the traffic signals at crossroads throughout US cities, according to CNN.According to CNN, the traffic light features have been available in Japan for years.In August, Google unveiled a way for users to see on the app a way to identify easier terrain like beaches and forests with a "color-mapping algorithmic technique." High school sports programs around the country are trying to figure out what the fall season will look like. In California, the sports season will be delayed until December or January. So, what does that mean for students hoping to play in college?Julian Jenkins is a Senior Regional Recruiting Director for Next College Student Athlete, the largest athletic recruiting network in the world. “So it puts you in a pickle. 'How am I going to get recruited? My son is not playing for these 3-4 months, how is he or she in her sport gonna get recruited' and that’s a big question," said Jenkins.In baseball, a pickle is when a base runner is caught between two players throwing the ball back and forth. Off the field, it's students who are now trapped in the stands.“Our number one job is to help them fill their roster spots every year with potential candidates for these opportunities," Jenkins said.They work with college and high school coaches, club coaches, athletic administrators and families. They were online before the pandemic and have been around 20 years. “College coaches don’t have endless time. They’d love to be everywhere at all times, they’d love to go to every single high school game, every club tournament, but they can’t be, so they come to our website and reach out directly to our people and say 'I need an outsider hitter in volleyball, I need a quarterback in football.'"Before Covid-19, recruiters from NCSA were at every live sports event you can think of. More than 500 last year. Now, there's lots of layers to what happens next, as regions try to figure out what the sports season looks like. Jenkins says students should know that a pause on the field doesn't mean a pause in college recruiting. “A lot of these students have academics. A lot of them have game video, but in sports like baseball, soccer, softball, they have skills video and some experience they can share with college coaches,” Jenkins said.California's sports season might be delayed but other states aren't at this point. Which means the push to get ahead and the competition to get to that next level just got more intense. “The power of technology is very powerful and there’s a big technology gap out there. But we’re encouraged by students using their cell phones and filming themselves in their workouts and we cannot minimize the positive power of coaches,” Jenkins added.As for developing players who may or may not have been discovered, Jenkins stresses training and practice.“Not necessarily the type where you have the whole team there, you’re giving them the platform. We have Zoom and Microsoft as opportunities to connect, where coaches are saying this is your workout,” she explained.Colleges are still filling their rosters and NCSA is still getting contacted about athletes. Some are traveling, playing tournaments in other states. And there's a new dynamic out there. All of a sudden, there's time to network. To figure out what school you really want, or perhaps, to work on your SAT score. To get your grades up. To properly fill out that college application.“Can you build relationships with colleges? Absolutely. If there is a delay it's maybe in certain sports that haven’t developed a virtual, but every college coach out there is having to develop more virtually because of the dead period of when college coaches can physically see players play in person has been pushed back for months,” Jenkins said.Some athletes are taking community college courses so they have a leg up for college should they decide to further their athletic career. Hackers breached an Equifax payroll-related service in March, months before the company said criminals accessed the personal records of 143 million people.On Monday, Equifax said the March incident was unrelated to the recently disclosed hack that occurred between May and July 2017."The criminal hacking that was discovered on July 29 did not affect the customer databases hosted by the Equifax business unit that was the subject of the March event," Equifax said in a statement.Security breach disclosure laws require businesses to disclose hacks if they include personal identifiable information like social security numbers, drivers licenses or state IDs. Equifax says it reported the March incident to customers, affected individuals and regulators.According to a report from Bloomberg, an insider says the same intruders were involved in both breaches. However, Equifax denies the incidents are related.Equifax did not provide additional information about the March breach, but journalist Brian Krebs reported that between April 2016 and March 2017, hackers accessed tax records through Equifax subsidiary TALX, a payroll and tax service provider.Equifax hired cybersecurity firm Mandiant to investigate both the March and July incidents."Mandiant has investigated both events and found no evidence that these two separate events or the attackers were related," Equifax said in a statement.The vulnerability used to access 143 million records was disclosed in March. Equifax has said it was aware of the vulnerability at the time and took efforts to patch it, however, the hackers used the flaw to steal information months later. The credit reporting agency announced the breach on Sept. 8 and confirmed the breach occurred between mid-May and July.It is unknown who was responsible for the hack disclosed earlier this month.The FBI and the Federal Trade Commission are investigating the breach. HARRISBURG, Pa. – Pennsylvania’s secretary of state said Thursday that “we definitely could” know which presidential candidate will win the battleground state by the end of the day.Secretary Kathy Boockvar made the comment when asked about the results during an interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper on Thursday.“You know, I’ve been saying that we’ll have the overwhelming majority counted by tomorrow, but it’s looking like we’ll have the overwhelming majority counted by today,” Boockvar said.During the interview taped at about 1:33 p.m. ET, Boockvar added that there were about 550,000 ballots that were still in the process of being counted. By 5:45 p.m., the number of ballots left to be counted dwindled to 326,000 ballots. At that point, Trump's lead dropped to 90,000. “Some of those may have already been counted but are not yet uploaded, but yeah, they’re coming in,” she said. “We’re getting 10,000 here, 20,000 here. Counties are furiously at work and it’s looking like we’re ahead of schedule.”Boockvar said most of the mail-in ballots left to be counted are from the state’s larger cities and the communities that surround them, meaning they may favor former Vice President Joe Biden.Pennsylvania is one of the few remaining states that haven’t been called in a presidential candidate’s favor and it could end up determining who’s in the White House come January.
