SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diego State's coronavirus cases among students continued to rise over the weekend, spiking more than 100 cases in two days.On Sunday, the college reported 286 confirmed or probable COVID-19 cases among on- and off-campus students. SDSU started the fall semester with about 200 classes in-person, many of which were lab classes that were determined to only be possible in person.The campus is urging students to avoid any gatherings throughout the weekend, isolate and quarantine if they feel ill, and wear a face covering and practice good hygiene. 1344

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Southwest announced Tuesday that the company is offering Californians a special deal on travel throughout the state. Southwest says travelers can buy one-way tickets as low as , but you better be on your toes. The sale only lasts until August 22. According to Southwest: "Purchase from August 21 through August 22, 2018, 11:59 p.m. in the respective time zone of the originating city."The tickets are for travel from September 11, 2018 through February 13, 2019. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Some Point Loma Nazarene University students have been told to shelter in place after a cluster of students tested positive for coronavirus.The university says it’s seen an increase of 12 cases. According to the school, 50 students were identified as close contacts.“A cluster of cases and potential exposures have been identified in the following dorm floors:Klassen Hall - 3rd North: three positive cases in isolation Hendricks Hall - 1st South: four positive cases in isolation Young Hall - 4th Floor: three positive cases in isolation Per university protocol, these positive cases are already in isolation in specific university housing outside of the potentially impacted floors,” the school said.The university says it is also monitoring two unrelated cases in Nease Hall.Read the full letter from the school below: 849
