Somebody call the manager — according to New York Times/Siena College polling, Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden has the "Karen" vote locked down.On Monday, The New York Times released data from two months of polling that showed how respondents planned to vote, which they made sortable by common first names — and according to polling, women named Karen planned to vote for Biden by a 60% to 40% margin.The support for Biden among women named Karen represented the largest split of any of the top 10 male and female names recorded by The Times. Men named Richard represented the biggest advantage in the top 10 lists for President Donald Trump, as they supported the President 64% to 36%.Interestingly, men named "Donald" were much more likely to support Trump by a wide margin — 68% to 19% — while men named "Joseph" were evenly split between the candidates at 45%.The names also seem to represent the candidates splits among genders — on Sunday, Don Levy, the Director of the Siena College Research Institute, said that Trump leads by eight points among men, while Biden leads by 18 points among women."Karen" is the nickname most often given to white women — particularly those who are the subject of viral videos — who respond to issues of race in problematic ways.Though the "Karen" meme has murky origins, the term exploded into the mainstream lexicon in 2020 after several videos featuring white women confronting people of color went viral. (KGTV) - Seventeen homes in Spring Valley were without water Friday night, after a water main break.The homes were mostly along Rothgard Road, according to officials with the Helix Water District.An 8-inch water main broke near Harmony Lane and Cristobal Drive around 3:30 p.m. Crews turned off the water before 4 p.m. to begin repairs.There was a water truck brought out for families impacted by the water shut off.Crews expect to have repairs completed, and the water turned on again by the Saturday morning. 540

Starbucks CEO Kevin Johnson called the arrest of two black men at a Philadelphia store last week "reprehensible" and promised to take action so that it doesn't happen again.A store manager called the police because the two men were sitting in the store without placing an order. They were arrested for trespassing. The customers said they were waiting for another man to arrive. That person arrived at the store as they were being arrested.A Starbucks spokesperson says the manager in the store who called police is no longer working in that store, although she would not comment if she is working at another location.Johnson said there would be more training for staff on the issue of "unconscious bias.""I've been very focused on understanding what guidelines and what training ever let this happen," he said. "What happened was wrong and we will fix it."Johnson had already posted apologies on the company's website. He said the company wanted to "express our deepest apologies to the two men who were arrested with a goal of doing whatever we can to make things right." He said he hoped to meet with the two men in person to make a face-to-face apology. He was in Philadelphia on Monday when he conducted the interview on Good Morning America."Starbucks stands firmly against discrimination or racial profiling," he said on the blog post.Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney issued his own statement calling the incident "appears to exemplify what racial discrimination looks like in 2018."
