One of the positions President-elect Joe Biden will reportedly be looking to fill when he takes office will be a new NASA administrator.According to Aviation Week & Space Technology, current NASA chief Jim Bridenstine said that he would step down from his position with the space agency even if Biden asked him to stay.Bridenstine told the magazine that he based his decision on what's best for the space agency, not for "partisan reasons."Bridenstine continued by saying that the next administrator needs to have a "close relationship with the president" and be "trusted by the administration," the magazine reported.Bridenstine added in the article that he doesn't think he'd be the right person under a new administration.According to NASA's website, the former Oklahoma congressman was appointed by President Donald Trump and took the NASA job in 2018.Bridenstine said he hasn't thought about what his next career step will be, Aviation Weekly reported. 965

One day after Papa John's CEO John Schnatter claimed that decreased TV viewership in response to NFL player protests over racial inequality was causing a decline in business, Pizza Hut said on Thursday that NFL boycotts have not caused any decline in business. Yum Brands, parent company of Pizza Hut, held an investors' conference call on Thursday and declared same-store sales were up 3 percent. That is compared to just a 1 percent increase for Papa John's. While Schnatter cited the response to NFL player protests as the reason for lower-than-expected growth at Papa John's, Yum Brands offered no such criticism. "We're not seeing any impact from any of that on our business," Yum Brands CEO Greg Creed said. While Creed admitted that live sports is important facet of business, he said other factors such as food quality are important. "The foundations are not always sexy, but I think delivering hot, reliable pizza is important, and I do believe the team is making progress on all the areas in the foundation that will enable us to build, longer term, a strong Pizza Hut position," Creed added.Schnatter, on the other hand, called the player protests during the national anthem a "debacle." “The NFL has hurt us by not resolving the current debacle to the players’ and owners’ satisfaction… NFL leadership has hurt Papa John’s shareholders,” he said on Wednesday.Just as Colin Kaepernick began leading protests among some NFL players last August, Papa John's renewed its contract to be the official pizzeria of the NFL. (KGTV) -- An Oceanside man convicted of kidnapping and killing a 3-week-old baby girl and trying to kill the infant’s parents and uncle was sentenced to nearly 142 years to life in prison.Anthony Ray McCall, 32, was found guilty of first-degree murder, kidnapping and attempted kidnapping, along with four counts of attempted murder on March 2.A jury in Long Beach deliberated for less than three hours before returning with a verdict.A co-defendant in the case, Giseleangelique Rene D'Milian, pleaded no contest to first-degree murder for the murder of Eliza De La Cruz as well as for the attempted murders of the infant’s father and uncle.The woman was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison.Eliza’s body was found in a San Diego trash bin in 2015.Eliza’s mother said during testimony that she pleaded with McCall not to take her baby. "I couldn't do anything to stop him," Honorato said. She said she could hear the voice of a woman telling her daughter, "I'm your new mommy."She said the voice was the same as the woman who offered her a ride home earlier in the day.A third defendant, Todd Damon Boudreaux, 46 pleaded guilty to being an accessory after the fact in October of 2016 and was sentenced to time served. 1246

OCEANSIDE (KGTV) - Police are searching for the suspect who reportedly shot a man at the Oceanside Transit Center Saturday night. Oceanside Police officers were called to the scene around 7:15 p.m. after receiving reports of a gunshot victim. When officers arrived, they found the victim on the ground suffering a gunshot wound the abdomen. The man was flown to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. At some point, the victim told police the suspect was staying at the Motel 6 along North Coast Highway. Police searched the hotel room the suspect was reportedly staying in, but the suspect wasn’t found. The shooting doesn't appear to be gang relates, police say. 683
