CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Authorities have filed criminal charges against a mother accused of driving around barricades during a hurricane, resulting in the drowning death of her 1-year-old son.Union County Sheriff’s detectives say that Dazia Ideah Lee, 20, of Charlotte, drove around highway barricades and kept going east until her vehicle encountered rushing water flowing across the road during Hurricane Florence.Her car left the roadway and came to a rest among a group of trees where she managed to free herself and her 1-year-old son Kaiden Lee-Welch. However, she lost her grip on Kaiden in the rushing water.“The tragic death of this child and the circumstances surrounding this case are heartbreaking. We continue to pray for all those suffering as a result of this child’s death," Sheriff Eddie Cathey stated. CASEY COUNTY, Kent. -- A man in Kentucky not only pulled over but got out of his vehicle to pay his respects while a funeral procession passed. The family was moved by the man's kindness and posted about it on social media and has since gone viral.Cecil Luster was a member of the U.S. Navy. His family celebrated his life yesterday in Casey County. Many drivers pulled over for the procession, led by the Patriot Guard of Kentucky. Cecil's grandson, Drew Richardson, says there was one driver, who was standing outside of his vehicle, who caught his family's attention."When my mom was talking about it afterward, there were tears welling up in her eyes, that someone actually showed respect for our family," Drew Richardson said.Standing with his hands crossed, it was a simple act of kindness that moved the entire family.Mark Meece says he didn't even think twice about getting out of his vehicle and he got the idea from a social media post."I've seen on Facebook where a soldier was standing outside in the rain, and I thought, you know, I need to start doing that to show respect. It was an inspiration to me," Meece said.The family shared the good deed on Facebook and it's been shared and commented on hundreds of times. Meece says the positivity of the social media post has encouraged him. CARLSBAD (KGTV) - In response to a four year construction project that recently kicked off, California Highway Patrol has lowered the speed limit on a stretch of interstate 5 by 10 miles per hour. The stretch is about eight miles long, through Encinitas and Carlsbad. The entire project will eventually go all the way to the 78. The project with add HOV lanes over the next four years. The new speed limit will help to protect workers in the area working closely to the passing vehicles. California Highway Patrol officer Mark Latulippe tells 10News, "the days of well we just put the signs up and we’re giving you a grace limit, are over". They've put up dozens of signs to warn people of the change, dropping the speed limit to 55 miles per hour. Despite the many signs drivers are ignoring the change and sticking to their normal speeds upwards of 70 miles per hour. The signs have been up for about a month but Latulippe says, "we are sending enforcement units out now to start that ticketing process of trying to slow this down". Drivers can now expect to get pulled over and ticketed from here on out. Because the area is a work zone, the tickets will be double the normal speeding fine. 1202

Most people had to wait until they were morbidly obese in order to be eligible for treatment so we decided to invent a product that would fit the middle ground," said Brister, who is the Chief Technology Officer at Obalon Therapeutics.Obalon is the only FDA approved swallowable gas-filled balloon for people roughly 30 to 100 pounds overweight.
