 People around the U.S. experienced some internet downtime on Monday. The outage was brief and service has been restored.The culprit was a configuration issue from Level 3, a telecommunications and internet service provider owned by CenturyLink. In a statement to CNN Tech, CenturyLink said a "configuration error" disrupted service and technicians restored service in 90 minutes.CenturyLink declined to provide further details.Though Level 3 was responsible for the issue, it affected other internet providers like Comcast. That's because Level 3's infrastructure delivers content for other internet services.Comcast said the service disruption to its Xfinity internet service has been resolved.According to reports from Down Detector, a website that monitors internet outages, Comcast and Level 3 connectivity was impacted nationwide beginning around 10 a.m. Pacific.Other internet service providers including Spectrum, Verizon, and AT&T showed a spike in connectivity issues, too, though they were not as widespread. (AT&T has agreed to acquire CNN's parent company Time Warner, and the deal is pending regulatory approval.) CHULA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) - Two people were seriously injured and a third person is dead after a shooting in a Chula Vista Costco parking lot Monday afternoon, according to police. The incident happened about 12:30 p.m. near the Costco at 1100 Broadway at Naples St. Other nearby stores include Walmart and Petco. Chula Vista police said a woman and her new boyfriend were putting away groceries in their car in the parking lot when the suspect approached from behind, shot both victims several times before turning the gun on himself. “I was about to pull in to the parking lot, a parking space; I thought they were fighting or something," said Carlos, a witness who did not provide his last name.Chris Anthes, who witnessed the incident unfold, told 10News, “The woman was up, like she was holding her chest. I thought maybe she was having a heart attack or something like that.” Anthes’ sister-in-law, Angela Shelton, added, “This other guy comes up and grabs ahold of her. Now that I know what was going on, he was trying to shield her.”Responding officers found the three victims suffering gunshot wounds, according to Lt. Dan Peak of the Chula Vista Police Department. All three were taken to UC San Diego Medical Center with serious injuries. SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Law enforcement officials Thursday were asking for the public's help in locating and identifying the suspect involved in two separate armed robberies this month. San Diego County Crime Stoppers was offering a reward of up to ,000 for information on the man, who's believed to have robbed a Game Stop in Serra Mesa on Dec. 19 and a Subway in Kearny Mesa four days later, according to the organization. The man is also believed to have been spotted at another Game Stop on the same day as the Subway robbery. Around 10:30 a.m. on Dec. 19, the suspect entered the Game Stop store on Murphy Canyon Road south of Aero Drive, where he lifted his shirt to display a silver revolver in his waistband and demanded money from the register, according to the Crime Stoppers news release. The clerk complied, and the man left the store on foot. Around 9:20 a.m. on Dec. 23, a man believed to be the same suspect entered the Game Stop on University Avenue east of 44th Street. An employee recognized the man from the earlier robbery and told another worker to call security. The suspect escaped from the store on foot.The same day, at about 11:20 a.m., it's believed that the same suspect entered a Subway restaurant near the intersection of Clairemont Mesa Boulevard and Mercury Street. He ``simulated'' that he had a gun in his waistband and demanded money from the register. The clerk complied, and the man again escaped on foot. The suspect was described as a Hispanic man in his early 30s, about 5-feet-7-inches to 5-feet-9-inches tall and 180 to 200 pounds.
