ANAHEIM, Calif. (KGTV) -- A man was arrested in Santa Ana Monday in the murder of an Escondido man whose body was discovered in the trunk of a car parked in Anaheim. Orange County authorities held a news conference Wednesday announcing the arrest of Antonio Silva Lopez, 27. As SWAT teams raided the home, they discovered another man inside who had been kidnapped and was being held for ransom, KABC reports. Lopez has been charged with murder along with a felony count of kidnapping for ransom-extortion or to commit robbery or a sex crime, court records show. RELATED: Body found in trunk of abandoned car in Anaheim identified as Escondido manAuthorities also discovered roughly two kilograms of fentanyl along with multiple firearms. Lopez was sought in the death of 34-year-old Adrian Darren Bonar. Bonar’s body was discovered October 17 when an abandoned car was being prepared to be towed from Santa Ana Canyon Road in Anaheim. Upon opening the trunk, officers saw something wrapped in tarp inside that “was a similar size and shape of a human body,” police said.Bonar, according to police, was “known to frequent motels in North San Diego County and Los Angeles County.”Friends said Bonar served in the Army and was deployed to Iraq, City News Service reports. 1277

American Airlines says it is suspending travel to 15 small cities across the country for at least a month as COVID-19 continues to wreak havoc on the airline travel industry.In a press release, American said it was suspending service to certain smaller markets as airline stimulus aid provided by the CARES Act is set to expire.American says the suspended travel is only effective between Oct. 7 and Nov. 3, but offered no guarantees that it would restore service to the cities afterward.Since the COVID-19 pandemic reached the United States, demand for air travel has plummeted. The Associated Press reported earlier this week that air travel is down more than 85% between 2019 and 2020. An investigation has gotten underway after a search warrant was executed at a Bellevue, Tennessee PetSmart store. The location was raided after the Metro Health Department and Metro Animal Care and Control received information, photos and video detailing an alleged “lack of care” for animals at the store.  Local police served the search warrant Thursday morning.According to PETA, two guinea pigs and a mouse were taken from the store. As hundreds of students from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School prepare to board buses to lobby lawmakers to demand gun control, a measure was struck down on Tuesday by the Republican-held Florida House that would ban assault weapons. The motion was denied by a whopping 71-36 tally. Tuesday's vote came six days after a confessed gunman killed 17 lives at the Parkland, Florida high school. Many of the 3,000 students of the high school have since been vocal in their opposition to status quo gun laws, with the hope of increasing restrictions to posses firearms. The accused gunman, Nikolas Cruz, used an AR-15 type weapon during his massacre, which only lasted several minutes before he tried to blend in with students escaping the school. According to the Associated Press, the bill will likely no longer be considered during this session of the legislature.  898
