(CNN) -- House Republicans on Saturday submitted a list of witnesses they'd like to testify as part of the chamber's impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump and Ukraine.In a letter to House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff, Republicans listed the anonymous whistleblower, former Vice President Joe Biden's son Hunter Biden, former US special envoy for Ukraine Kurt Volker, high-raking State Department official David Hale and Tim Morrison, the top Russia and Europe adviser on the National Security Council. (CNN) -- Lifeguards in Huntington Beach, California, were reminding swimmers to shuffle their feet when they go into the ocean after 176 people were stung by stingrays in just one day.A record number of people were stung on Saturday, authorities told CNN affiliate KTLA.It may sound like a scene from a monster movie, but the rays weren't on a stabby rampage attacking beachgoers' lower legs.Warm weather brought lots of people to the beach during low tide."When you have people in the water with lower tides like that, they make their way out to where the stingrays reside and, unfortunately, people step on the stingrays and that's when they get stung," Lt. Eric Dieterman of the fire department's Marine Safety Division told KTLA.Lifeguards had people soak their injuries in bags of warm water to help ease the pain from the stings.There were fewer people in the water on Sunday after the weather got cooler, KTLA reported, and the number of stings went down.Dieterman said lifeguards warned people to stay out of the water through Monday.Stingrays are flat, bottom-dwellers that like to hang out partially covered in the sand in shallow, temperate waters.Their primary defense is camouflage, but they will sting if stepped on or disturbed. That's why experts recommend swimmers shuffle their feet when they walk in the water to produce vibrations that scare the rays away.Stingray injuries can usually be treated with warm water, antibiotics to prevent infections and possibly a tetanus shot, according to SeaGrant California. (KGTV) — An elderly driver led Los Angeles-area officers on a slow-speed pursuit on the 101 Freeway Wednesday, before being taken into custody.The driver began the pursuit with California Highway Patrol officers just after 1 p.m. in the San Gabriel Valley area, according ABC-affiliate KABC. CHP officers tried to pull the driver's SUV over for a carpool violation but the vehicle continued down the freeway, KABC reported.Officers followed the driver at normal highway speeds through Glendale and into the San Fernando Valley, before officers pulled in front of the driver's SUV and slowed the vehicle down.As officers approached the vehicle, the driver was cooperative and stepped out of the vehicle without incident.The driver, who appeared to be an elderly man, seemed disoriented as officers took him into custody, KABC reported. 842

(CNN) -- Two of three children who went missing after floodwater swept up their vehicle in central Arizona have been found dead, the Gila County Sheriff's Office said Saturday.The search continues for the third child, authorities said.The children vanished Friday when a car crossing Tonto Creek, about 60 miles west of the New Mexico border, was caught in flooding around 4 p.m. local time, Gila County Undersheriff Mike Johnson said.Four children and one adult managed to get out of the vehicle and were stranded on an island in the creek, where they were rescued by a helicopter from the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office, Johnson said.A woman who was in the water also got out, but three children were unaccounted for, the undersheriff said.The children and two adults were all in the car together when it was overtaken by floodwater, Johnson told CNN. It's unclear how they know each other and how old they are.An Arizona Department of Public Safety helicopter joined the search Friday night, along with local authorities and the fire department, Johnson said.A flood warning was in effect for Gila County until 8:45 p.m. local time on Friday, according to the National Weather Service in Phoenix. 1209
