Fewer women are scheduling mammograms due to COVID-19 fears, according to a local doctor.At TriStar Summit Medical Center, Dr. Rhonda Halcomb with Centennial Women’s group, said they’re being careful.“From the time that you check in here, patients are pre-screened and screened, we provide masks and hand sanitizer here in the building, and here in the office," said Halcomb.Even though we’re in the middle of a pandemic, she said routine mammograms are still important.“Breast cancer, in general, is the number one cancer in women.”She’s sad that fewer people are showing up, or postponing their routine checks.“It breaks my heart in general that people are scared to take care of themselves,” Dr. Halcomb said.First hand, she has seen how mammograms can save lives.“Breast cancer to me has affected several of my family members. Ford is recalling about 350,000 trucks for a problem that could cause them to roll even after the driver shifts into park.The automaker says the issue affects 2018 Ford F-150 and Ford Expedition vehicles with 10-speed automatic transmissions, as well as Ford F-650 and F-750 vehicles with 6-speed automatic transmissions.Ford says a piece of equipment on the affected vehicles can become dislodged over time, which means the car won't be in the gear that it looks like it's in, such as park.This means that if the driver shifts the car into park, the car might not actually be in park — and there would not be a warning message to indicate that. If he or she doesn't use a parking brake, Ford says the vehicle could roll.Ford says it's aware of one reported accident and injury.The company is also recalling more than 100 other vehicles for a missing transmission roll pin. If the pin is missing, the company says that the transmission on those vehicles might eventually lose the ability to park, even if the driver shifts the car into that gear.Ford says that problem affects around 160 of the 2017 and 2018 Ford F-150s, 2018 Ford Expeditions, 2018 Lincoln Navigators and 2018 Ford Mustangs with 10R80 transmissions.  1231

For the second consecutive day, more than 2,000 lives were lost in the United States due to the coronavirus, according to Johns Hopkins University data.On Wednesday, 2,216 coronavirus-related deaths were recorded throughout the US, marking the most since May. Tuesday was the first time since May that 2,000 coronavirus-deaths were recorded in the US.The US death toll from the coronavirus is at 262,090 as of late Wednesday. The average number of coronavirus-related deaths in the US has now reached 1,600 per day, which is more than double the number of deaths per day a month ago.Also doubling in the last month is the number of COVID-19 hospitalizations. According to the COVID Tracking Project, the number of Americans currently hospitalized with COVID-19 is nearly 90,000. Just thirty days ago, there were 42,000 coronavirus-related hospitalizations. Sixty days ago, fewer than 30,000 were hospitalized with the coronavirus.The rapid spread of coronavirus cases in recent weeks has prompted grave concern among public health experts that family gatherings for Thanksgiving will make for a dire situation for America’s already overwhelmed and increasingly overwhelmed hospitals. 1191
