SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Police believe the deaths in Otay Mesa Sunday of an elderly man and woman may be a murder-suicide.Police have identified the suspect and victim in the incident as James 82-year-old Rafferty and 83-year-old Kazuko Rafferty. Police believe James shot Kazuko several times and then used the same gun to take his own life. Dispatchers received a call about 10:30 a.m. requesting a welfare check on a married couple who lived at the Ocean Bluffs Mobile Home Park on Del Sol Blvd.Officers responded to the home and received no answer when they knocked on the door and made several phone calls. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Passengers in a deadly bus crash near Fallbrook on I-15 Saturday suffered broken bones, cuts and scrapes, according to California Highway Patrol.A 23-year-old woman from Mexico, a 73-year-old woman from Pasadena, and a 67-year-old woman from Riverside lost their lives in the crash.In a press release CHP stated 8 of the 20 passengers were from Mexico, one was from Temecula and the others were from Southern California. Their ages range from 5-years-old to 75-years-old.READ RELATED: At least three dead, 18 injured in bus rollover on Interstate 15The 5-year-old boy who was airlifted to the University of Riverside Health Services Medical Center has life threatening head injuries. He was from Mexico.Four passengers are being cared for at Inland Valley Medical Center. Seven are being treated at Temecula Valley Medical Center. Five are at the Palomar Medical Center.CHP issued a correction, saying there were 21 people total on the bus, instead of 22 as they reported Saturday. The error came from double counting the driver.CHP said the National Transportation and Safety Board is arriving Monday to investigate the crash.The bus crashed off the side of South Bound I-15 around 10:25 a.m. Saturday while rain was falling south of Fallbrook. 1272

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Months after one of San Diego’s biggest employers was said to be looking to add up to 1,000 jobs, General Dynamics NASSCO instead announced layoffs.In April, NASSCO held a job fair, claiming the company was looking to add up to 1,000 jobs. Robert Godinez, head of the Boilermakers Union Local 1998, says the shipbuilder didn’t hire close to that number.In total, NASSCO notified nearly 1,500 workers that they could be out of a job in September. The shipbuilder told 10News it expects to let go of closer to 350 workers.The layoffs are in relation to a dry dock accident in July that damaged facilities.One of the company’s employees, Glicerio Cortez, says he doesn’t know exactly what happened in July, but he heard of the damage through coworkers. “They say that they heard like a, something like a bomb, something strong and then the water came all the way to the dry dock,” said Cortez.RELATED: NASSCO delivers layoff notices to 1,500 workersVideo captured by Sky10 shows water flooding the dry dock as debris filled the area. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — One man has died after a hit-and-run outside Sharp Memorial Hospital in Kearny Mesa, after he had reportedly been discharged from the hospital.San Diego Police said a 61-year-old man was in the southbound land in the 3000 block of Health Center Dr. when they were hit by an unknown vehicle just after 5:30 p.m. The vehicle fled the scene after hitting the man, SDPD said.The man was taken to the hospital, where he died.Police told ABC 10News at the scene that the man had reportedly just been discharged from the hospital before he was hit by the vehicle.SDPD Traffic Division was investigating the collision. The victim's name was not immediately released.Health Center Dr. and Frost St. were closed following the hit-and-run for investigators. 773
