Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross violated his ethics agreement and submitted a financial disclosure form that "was not accurate," according to the Office of Government Ethics.Emory Rounds, the director of the Office of Government Ethics, wrote that Ross reported in his annual financial disclosure that he sold bank stock that other reports indicate he did not sell.That meant "the filer was therefore not in compliance with his ethics agreement at the time of the report," Rounds wrote.The watchdog group that drew attention to the report, Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, said OGE declining to certify a report "does not normally happen.""With OGE declining to certify, that's a pretty giant red flag," the group's spokesman, Jordan Libowitz, told CNN.Richard Painter, a former ethics attorney for President George W. Bush, told CNN he has never seen a Cabinet member's financial disclosure form rejected in this way.Instead, he said, agencies sometimes send a draft financial disclosure form to OGE for review. Painter believes the fact that the Ross matter wasn't handled this way is a sign OGE is trying to send a strong message to Ross.The document is a routine financial disclosure form posted online by OGE. The decision to decline it is dated February 15.In a letter to the Commerce Department's in-house ethics official, Rounds wrote the 2018 financial disclosure report is "not accurate" and that Ross is "not in compliance with his ethics agreement at the time of the report." Eleven people have died so far in 2019 while climbing Mount Everest, a behemoth of a mountain that towers 29, 029 feet above sea level. This is more than twice the number of people who died climbing Everest in 2018, which saw only five deaths that season.But it's not the number of deaths that some may find shocking — it's the reasons behind them. Only two of this season's Mount Everest deaths can be attributed to falls.So what's killing climbers ascending the mountain? It's primarily exhaustion and altitude sickness, and something called "the death zone."Seasoned climbers call any part of the mountain above 26,000 feet "the death zone" because there is only so long a human can survive at that elevation due to lack of oxygen. "Even when using bottled oxygen, supplemental oxygen, there's only a very few number of hours that we can actually survive up there before our bodies start to shut down," mountain guide Adrian Ballinger told CNN. And, unfortunately, the wait at the summit of Mount Everest plays a role in these deaths because the longer someone is at that altitude, the more severe they feel the effects from lack of oxygen and exhaustion. During the week beginning May 20, crowds of climbers became stuck in a queue to the summit. When this happens, climbers aren't eating, drinking or sleeping and continue to use up vital oxygen, which can lead to death.British climber Robin Haynes Fisher was one of those who had warned of the dangers of overcrowding."With a single route to the summit, delays caused by overcrowding could prove fatal so I am hopeful my decision to go for the 25th will mean fewer people. Unless of course everyone else plays the same waiting game," he wrote in a captioned Instagram post on May 19.He died after suffering from what appeared to be altitude sickness at 28,215 feet, while returning from the summit on Saturday.Altitude sickness occurs when people are at high elevations for an extended period of time. It can happen anywhere that's 8,000 feet above sea level or more. There are three types of altitude sickness. From least to most severe, they are: acute mountain sickness, high-altitude pulmonary edema (HAPE) and high-altitude cerebral edema (HACE). The symptoms for all three types are similar (headache, fatigue, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, shortness of breath), but HAPE is accompanied by a buildup of fluid in the lungs and HACE, the most severe type of altitude sickness, occurs when there's a buildup of fluid in the brain.So how can climbers avoid the same deadly fate as the 11 who died? Simply put — be careful. And what is it doing there?A family in Highland, Michigan, believes their house is haunted and what's even more disturbing is that whatever is haunting the home is doing harm to their little girl.Heather Brough and Joshua Higgins say they couldn't believe what they saw on their nanny cam."It’s almost like she sees something that we don’t," Brough said. It’s an image she and Higgins say is haunting their home."It was chilling," Higgins said. "It was literally a chill down your spine, like that 'what if' factor — is this what I just saw?"Caught on the couple's nanny cam video a few weeks ago is what appears to be something moving in front of the baby crib. The couple says it appears to be a ghost."I freaked out," Brough said. "I stopped what I was doing and I ran upstairs and grabbed my daughter."She says this so-called ghost scratched her daughter Lily and attacked her too."It scares us that it could do something else," Brough said. "I mean, there was a morning I woke up and I felt like someone’s hands were around my neck."A team of paranormal investigators came in and tried to answer some of the couple's questions and concerns. Higgins' father Jim says it may be someone who lived in this house before."The gentleman that lived here originally committed suicide apparently by jumping out this window, which is one story down," said Joshua's father, Jim Higgins, while recalling a story he was told about the home. Days after Christmas, Leon Haughton flew back to the US from his birthplace in Jamaica with three jars of honey. He had no idea they would cost him his freedom for nearly three months.The Maryland resident spent 82 days in jail after he was arrested December 29 and accused of bringing a controlled substance into the country. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers who searched Haughton's bag upon his arrival to Baltimore/Washington International Airport said the honey he was carrying tested positive for drugs."They said I was charged with methamphetamine, so I said, 'what is methamphetamine?'" Haughton told CNN affiliate WJLA.Charging documents say the 46-year-old man told officers he had purchased the honey on the side of a road in Jamaica, but officers suspected it was liquid meth.Each of the three bottles tested positive for methamphetamine in a field test, according to a probable cause statement. Haughton was taken to a county jail to face multiple charges including importing a controlled substance into the state and possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance.He stayed there until March when the charges against him were dropped after a second test in a Georgia lab found no signs of drugs."Once I came out, all my insurances collapsed, my credit was destroyed," he told the affiliate. "I lost my job, everything. They just left me a mess."The father of six told WJLA he lost two jobs while sitting behind bars.But there was no error made in this case, the prosecutor's office said."A specially trained drug sniffing dog was alerted to the presence of a controlled dangerous substance and a preliminary test done by the police officers further tested positive for a controlled dangerous substance," the office said. "The confirmatory laboratory test showed (there) was no controlled dangerous substance inside the honey."ICE detainer in questionThe Anne Arundel County Prosecutor's Office said Haughton faced a no-bond house arrest on the state charges, but an ICE detainer prevented him from being released earlier.Terry Morris, Haughton's attorney, also said he was told there was an ICE detainer. Haughton also told the affiliate that upon his release he was told ICE had a hold on him.A spokeswoman with ICE told CNN there was no detainer issued for Haughton and referred questions to US Customs and Border Protection. When contacted by CNN, CBP declined to comment on the record.He doesn't want his honey backHaughton told the affiliate the whole ordeal put a great deal of pressure on his family."My kids were stressed out, my mom, everybody," he said. "They put me through hell."And even though Customs has sent him a letter offering the honey back, according to Morris, Haughton doesn't want it."Lawsuits (are) going to be coming soon," Morris says.
