CHICAGO – A woman is alleging that employees at a Mexican restaurant and nightclub in Chicago escorted her to an alley behind the business and stood by as a man allegedly sexually assaulted her while she was intoxicated, according to lawyers who filed a lawsuit against the business. No arrests have been made in the incident, which allegedly occurred October 18 behind El Hefe Chicago at 15 West Hubbard Street, commonly known as El Hefe.Lawyers for the woman say they believe the alleged assailant either works at the business or knows someone on the staff. On Wednesday, a judge ordered El Hefe to preserve any potential evidence pertaining to the alleged assault from that night, including surveillance video."I'm confident that [these videos] are going to show that El Hefe was involved in this, that they knew who this individual was and throughout that evening, this assailant and suspect was having conversations and was friendly with the bar staff and in fact knew the bar staff," John Chwarzynski said in an 1029
EAST LAKE, Fla. -- A Clearwater, Florida, police officer is facing an ultimatum from her East Lake, Florida, home owners association: Stop parking her marked police cruiser in her driveway or pay hundreds of dollars in fines. "The first thought is, is it a joke? Like this is the most absurd thing I’ve ever heard of,” said Dan Parri, a family friend speaking on behalf of the officer and her husband who is also in law enforcement. Parri says officers take home their marked cruisers to speed up response times. He says it also deters crime. “Every place that I’ve ever lived, if I had a police cruiser parked next to me, I felt safer,” he said. Florida law says home owners associations can prohibit commercial vehicles from parking in driveways but an 767

Chicago Police have released dozens of hours of footage from the investigation into the attack Jussie Smollett reported he suffered. In one of the videos, Smollett is seen with a noose around his neck as police arrive at his apartment to begin the investigation. Smollett then requested the officers turn off their body cameras. Chicago Police claim that Smollett fabricated a story that he was involved in an attack fueled by race and homophobia. They claim that Smollett orchestrated a fake assault involving two men, who have seen their charges dropped. After initially being charged by prosecutors for 16 counts of felony disorderly conduct, Smollett's charges were dropped. Chicago Police, however, stand by their allegations, and has ordered Smollett to repay the costs associated with the investigation. Last week, a judge appointed a special prosecutor to look into why Smollett's charges were dropped, opening the possibility that Smollett could be charged again. 984
DUNDEE, Fla. — A Florida man has been arrested after he reportedly called 911 and claimed he was robbed, all so that he could get out of going to work for the day. Brian Anderson, 32, of Dundee, called 911 to report an armed robbery near the intersection of Highway 27 and Lincoln Avenue. He told 911 dispatchers that two unknown suspects carrying a gun, stole money, his necklace and his phone from him. He went on to say that the suspects threw his phone on the ground and proceeded to jump into a black Ford Crown Victoria and drive away. Deputies with the Polk County Sheriff's Office quickly responded with Air and K-9. When they arrived on scene, deputies figured out the robbery never actually happened and Anderson confessed that he made up the story. He told them he didn't want to show up for his 11 a.m. shift at Hardees where he works. "On the bright side, Brian didn’t have to go to his 11:00 a.m. shift at the restaurant," the Polk County Sheriff's Office said in a Facebook post on Tuesday.Anderson was arrested and charged with Misuse of 911 and Knowingly Giving False Information to Law Enforcement. He was booked into the Polk County Jail without incident. 1187
