SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — City Council leaders Wednesday approved a plan for an emergency moratorium on evictions during the coronavirus pandemic.The emergency law halts evictions within the City of San Diego until May 31, 2020, but tenants must show a substantial decrease in income or medical expenses caused by COVID-19 in order to qualify.RELATED: White House, Congress agree on trillion virus rescue billIf a tenant is not able to demonstrate they've been financially hit by COVID-19 within a specified time frame, a landlord can pursue an eviction. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — City officials hope to get the construction process for a proposed downtown park, aimed at being an anchor for San Diego's East Village, off the ground this summer.The proposed 4.1-acre, million East Village Green will sit between F and G Streets stretching from 13th St. to 15th St. The massive stretch of green space in the heart of downtown San Diego will feature an 11,000-square-foot multi-use lawn, plaza and fountain areas, children's garden, 14,200-square-foot community center, dog parks, and room for food facilities, according to development plans.RELATED: Officials to break ground on county's first bike skills park in South BayThe green would also include an underground parking structure for 200 vehicles. "The City will be maintaining and programming East Village Green, and Civic [San Diego] hopes to start the bid solicitation process in late summer," according to Kimberly Moore with Civic San Diego. Plans show an additional multi-use lawn, children's garden, and casual park space in the park's future. Part of the construction process will also involve restoring nearby historic homes, which sit at the corner of F and 15th Streets. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — As reports surfaced that the Alliance of American Football would suspend all league operations, its teams — and fans — were left in a state of limbo.Fans searching for tickets to the San Diego Fleet's April 14 game at SDCCU Stadium against the Arizona Hotshots were met with a screen reading, "Oh-no! These tickets went fast and we're unable to find more right now."Calls to season ticket lines and links on the team's website went unanswered and returned no results Tuesday.
