Those things would hurt me but I wasn't allowed to comment on it," Awtrey said.And Awtrey says when the college found out about his surgery, they told him he couldn't return to the dorms, and eventually suspended him for two terms.Welch College is a private university, so it isn't subject to the same laws forbidding discrimination that public universities are."These things are just part of a problem that is now pervading all of society," Awtrey said.
