RAMONA (KGTV) - Seven acres burned in a brush fire near downtown Ramona Saturday, according to CalFire. At 6 p.m. Cal Fire PIO Issac Sanchez said the fire was 20% contained.The fire burned near Montecito Road and North Ramona Street.Hundreds of neighbors were evacuated from the Ramona Mountain Valley Apartments, where the fire burned right up to their fence. Juliette Farey, a mother and resident at the complex said she was coming back from her son's birthday party and when she saw the smoke, she knew her home was at risk."We were scared for our lives," she said.Farey said the unruly gold bushes on the other side of the fence were out of control, and wished they would be better maintained to keep a fire from happening in the future.Sanchez said the fire started with a pile of debris in the riverbed then spread to nearby grass. Sixty-five fire fighters responded, working to protect neighbors, two planes and a helicopter also jumped into action to help. Farey believes homeless who live in the riverbed started the fire, saying the high rent is to blame. "They probably lit a fire in the river bottom to stay warm," she said.Other residents were terrified, saying they've never experienced a scare like this."There was just this wall of smoke. I grabbed our animals and my daughters," Angelina Rios said police banged on their door urging them to get out and that's when they saw the wall of smoke steps away.Her daughter Destiny Minjares described the fear gripping her and her neighbors, that turned to excitement as a helicopter soared just over their heads dropping water.Destiny said they got splashed and everyone cheered after the successful maneuver, a feeling that quickly faded as they saw the fire was still raging nearby.Firefighters got a handle on the fire around 6 p.m. The evacuations have been lifted. All road closures have been lifted as well. Firefighters are expected to be at the scene for several hours.This is a developing story. 10News will update as details become available.  2101

President Donald Trump will hold two rallies in the western swing state of Arizona on Monday while Sen. Kamala Harris will stump for her running mate, Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden in the all-important battleground state of Florida.Polls indicate that Trump has significant ground to make up in the final two weeks in order to win re-election — a steep but not impossible task, considering he did just that in winning the 2016 election.Trump spent Sunday evening in the Las Vegas area after a rally in Nevada — a crucial swing state where recent polls show him trailing Biden by as many as 11 points or as few as 2 points. Trump will then fly to Arizona on Monday, where he will hold rallies in Prescott, a city in the northern part of the state, and in Tucson, in the southern part of the state.Meanwhile, Sen. Kamala Harris will hold voter mobilization events in two of Florida's largest cities — Orlando and Jacksonville. A state infamous for tight races, recent polls show Biden with a slight lead of just a few points.At a drive-in rally in Orlando, supporters honked their car horns as Harris approached the stage. She urged those in attendance to hit the polls as soon as possible, as early in-person voting opened in the state on Monday.Harris bashed Trump on his administration's response to the COVID-19, citing reports that he privately told journalist Bob Woodward in February that he knew the virus was deadly despite his public efforts to "downplay" the crisis. She also told rally-goers that key issues like healthcare and police reform would be on the ballot next month. Rapper T.I. was arrested early Wednesday in Henry County, Georgia, outside Atlanta, according to authorities.The musician, whose legal name is Clifford Harris Jr., was arrested outside the gated community where he resides.The Henry County Sheriff's Office said T.I. was cited on misdemeanor charges of simple assault, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness after an alleged incident about 4 a.m. in Stockbridge, south of Atlanta.According to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, T.I. did not have his key and argued with a guard, who refused to let him in.He has since posted bond.In a statement provided to CNN, attorney Steve Sadow said T.I. was "wrongfully arrested early this morning when he attempted to gain entrance into his gated community -- where his wife 'Tiny' and his family reside.""The guard was sound asleep when Tip arrived at the guardhouse," Sadow said, using the rapper's nickname. "It took Tip some time to wake up the sleeping guard."Sadow said the rapper identified himself, was refused entry and then called his wife, singer Tameka "Tiny" Harris, who confirmed his identity."The guard continued to refuse entry without justification," the lawyer's statement said. "Words were exchanged and apparently the guard and/or a supervisor called the police.
