SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego Police are investigating after a 16-year-old was shot and killed in Lincoln Park Saturday night.Police responded to the 4900 block of Magnus Way around 10:20 p.m. after receiving reports of gunfire.When they arrived, officers found the teen in a driveway with a single gunshot wound. The 16-year-old was taken to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead, police say. Police say the teen has been identified, but his name isn’t being released at this time. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego Police are investigating an attempted kidnapping after a man reportedly tried to grab a woman holding an infant in La Jolla Wednesday afternoon.Police say the woman was on the 5100 block of La Jolla Hermosa Avenue around 4:30 p.m. when a man walked by and grabbed her arm as she held a 1-year-old.The man then left the area on a bicycle that didn’t have any tires before ditching the bike and running away on foot.The woman, identified as the child’s nanny, received a scratch on her arm, but the baby is uninjured, police say.The suspect was arrested after running into the water and floating. Lifeguards helped police get the man out of the water. Police identified the suspect as 51-year-old Michael Hudson. Jail records show Hudson was booked on four counts, including felony kidnapping and battery.Hudson is being held on 0,000 bail. An Oct. 30 date has been scheduled for his arraignment. 935

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego County and other cities are trying to give businesses and places of worship more options that would allow them to expand into nearby parks, and while some are taking the help, others are finding alternative ways to stay open.Last weekend, in Encinitas, a massive church gathering was organized, with photos of the event posted on social media.At the gathering at Cardiff State Beach, crowds of people were seen singing, praying, and cheering. "For other entities that have chosen to act irresponsibly, entities in particular like the Awaken Church where we have been forced to have to share outbreak information because of their lack of cooperation and notifying members of their congregation about cases there, we continue to implore the public to recognize the very real danger of indoor religious services."Following the initial announcements of an outbreak, the church continued to hold indoor services. The church has received multiple cease-and-desist orders from the county.The church's website says it has moved Wednesday services in San Diego online through December. Sunday services on the church's website did not appear to be changed. The church also has locations in El Cajon and Carlsbad.Officials advised members of the church to wear face coverings and practice social distancing, and to avoid large gatherings.Generally, the county does not reveal the locations of community outbreaks, which are three or more COVID-19 cases from different households within two weeks at one location. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Rallies were held in six different states in what organizers are calling "The March for Reparations to African people."Crowds gathered at the waterfront in downtown San Diego Saturday afternoon wearing masks with signs in hand.Among them was Wendy Craig, who is part of the UHURU Solidarity Movement, the group that organized the rally. Craig says they’re calling on people to do more acting and less talking. You have to take a material stand of solidarity and turn over the stolen resources."Craig says many people that registered to participate in this event also raised money towards a collective reparations goal. "Four years ago when we organized a march for reparations we did not have a lot of success. But that was shifted through the George Floyd protests, and Breonna Taylor. That shift has brought a lot of unity to what we’re doing," Craig said.Collectively, this organization had set a goal of raising ,000.
