BEIJING, March 2 (Xinhua) -- Chinese State Councilor Ma Kai asked for more active policy to boost employment, guarantee economic growth, people's livelihood and social stability here on Monday.     Ma made the comments when addressing the opening ceremony of China National School of Administration.     He suggested that policies to boost economic growth and enhance economic structure should be combined more closely with the effort to create job opportunities.     Measures should be taken to relieve companies' burdens and maintain existing positions for employees, Ma said.     He also encouraged job seekers to start their own businesses, and adjust their job expectations.     Ma highlighted the importance of creating jobs for university graduates, migrant workers, veterans and families with no income.

ISLAMABAD, April 18 (Xinhua) -- A 100-member-strong youth delegation of Pakistan is to leave for China on Sunday on a week-long visit as a program of boosting exchanges between the two friendly countries.     "The youths from all walks of life of Pakistan will have the chance to look at China and know more about China," said Charge d'Affairs Yao Jing of Chinese Embassy in Pakistan told youth delegation at a reception.     Chinese President Hu Jintao invited 500 young people from Pakistan to visit China within five years when he paid a state visit to Pakistan in November, 2006. The program was launched in 2007.     The program is aimed at "increasing mutual understanding" between the two countries and peoples, said Yao.     Ullah Saif Shervani, secretary of Pakistani Ministry of Youth Affairs, expressed the hope that the delegation members could take the opportunity to learn from "friendly China" and help enhance "time-tested friendship" between the two countries.     "I appreciate the Chinese government for the chance to visit," said Adil Taj, an university student in Islamabad. "We will work hard to make our own contribution to Pakistan-China friendship."     The youth delegation is scheduled to visit Beijing, Urumqi and Lanzhou from April 19 to 27.

RIYADH, Feb. 10 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Hu Jintao met Saudi Arabian King Abdullah bin Abdul-Aziz here Tuesday on deepening the two countries' friendship and cooperation.     Hu arrived here earlier in the day at the start of his "journey of friendship and cooperation" to Saudi Arabia and four African countries.     In a written statement issued upon his arrival, Hu said he would exchange views with the king on China-Saudi Arabia ties and global and regional issues of common concern, including ways of addressing the international financial crisis.     Since China and Saudi Arabia established diplomatic ties in 1990, bilateral relations have developed steadily, with increasing exchange of visits at different levels and expanding cooperation in various sectors. BEIJING, March 2 (Xinhua) -- China's top political advisory body is to start its annual session Tuesday, with the focus on addressing global financial crisis. The Second Session of the 11th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) will open Tuesday afternoon and last nine days, said spokesman for the session Zhao Qizheng at a press conference Monday.     The session's secretariat said political advisors have submitted 296 proposals as of 5 p.m. Monday, with economy, employment and infrastructure being the main concerns as the global financial crisis unfolded. NEW YORK, April 15 (Xinhua) -- Chinese State Councilor Liu Yandong gave a speech at the prestigious Yale University on Wednesday, calling for the strengthening of bilateral exchanges and cooperation in the field of humanities. Liu said that to build positive and comprehensive Sino-U.S. relations in the 21st century, the two countries need to deepen and expand exchanges and cooperation in humanities.     "Humanities exchange is a bridge of friendship, understanding and trust between nations and peoples, which comprises an important part of Sino-U.S. relations along with economic and trade cooperation," she said.
