The photographer whose photo of an engagement in Yosemite National Park sparked a viral manhunt, says he's found the mystery couple.Matthew Dippel was getting ready to take a picture of a friend at Yosemite's Taft Point earlier this month, when he saw a man get on one knee to propose to a woman.He didn't see any other photographers around, so he snapped a picture of the moment to give to the couple.Dippel ran over to find them, but they were gone by the time he got there."I must have just ran right past their friends that they had up there with them," he said.Dippel was in the middle of a road trip, but he posted the photo on social media when he got home to Grand Rapids, Michigan on October 17.The posts were shared thousands of times by people all over the world.Charlie Bear told HLN that he and his now-fiance Melissa stumbled on the post on Instagram last week."At first, I wasn't really sure it was us to be honest," Bear said. But they compared Dippel's photo with pictures they had taken to make sure.Dippel was a little skeptical, at first, because he'd gotten tons of messages from people claiming to be the couple, so he asked them to prove it."They sent me over iPhone screen shots of some of their friends that were up on that point that day, and they are wearing the exact same thing, and the photos are timestamped on the exact same day and the same time that I was there," Dippel said. "It just perfectly matched up to Charlie and Melissa."Dippel said he's still working out the details to get them a print of the photo.Bear said that it was actually their second proposal. The Miami Marlins announced Friday that they had hired Kim Ng as their new general manager, making Ng the first female GM in MLB history.According to ESPN, Ng is now the highest-ranking woman employed by any of the 30 MLB teams and is likely the first woman to hold the title of general manager for any major pro sports team — though other women, like former Oakland Raiders CEO Amy Trask and Los Angeles Lakers President Jeanie Buss have held executive roles with pro sports teams.Ng is also the second person of Asian descent to lead the baseball operations of an MLB team, following in the footsteps of Giants president of baseball operations Farhan Zaidi."This challenge is one I don't take lightly. The officer who fired the gunshots in a deadly swatting prank will not be charged as a Wichita, Kansas prosecutor ruled that the officer "acted reasonably," the Wichita Eagle reported on Thursday.Andrew Finch was killed on Dec. 28 after a prankster called the Wichita Police claiming that Finch was holding the caller hostage, and that multiple others had been shot. When police entered the home, they did not know at the time that the call was a prank. District Attorney Marc Bennett said Thursday that officers believed that Finch was reaching for a gun at the time of the shooting. Officers claimed that Finch was reaching for his waistband, and did not follow instructions to keep his hands up. "This shooting should not have happened," Bennett told the Wichita Eagle. "The officer's decision was made in the context of the false call."Finch was shot roughly 10 seconds after he opened the door. An autopsy confirmed that Finch was wounded by multiple bullet fragments, the Eagle reported. "The family's devastated and the family is disappointed by the decision of the district attorney today," Finch's family attorney told the Eagle. The nation’s air traffic control system is losing controllers faster than it can hire people, according to the Air Traffic Controllers union.“If we don't have enough controllers to open all the positions and we have to combine up positions we have to reduce the capacity,” said Paul Rinaldi, the union’s president.He says the effects of not enough controllers have affected flights in the past."We have seen some situations last summer where we didn't have enough controllers at the facility where airlines did cancel flights," he said. "Right now we're at a 30-year low of certified controllers in a system."In 2017, 1,848 controllers left the job due to retirements, promotions or other reasons, according to the FAA’s Controller staffing report released this year.The FAA hired 1,880 people to be new controllers last year. That’s a gain of 32 controllers. But of the number hired, the FAA lost 735 people who did not pass the required training academy.Only 1,145 passed, far fewer than the number of controllers who left the job last year."We'll keep trying to keep up with attrition and we haven't been able to do that," Rinaldi said.He says if the problem isn’t addressed differently than it currently is, we can expect to be inconvenienced in the future when we fly."You will have some delays on the ground maybe even holding in the air depending on what the staffing looks at looks like at that facility," Rinaldi said. 1435
