The Justice Department has dropped its case against a woman who laughed out loud during the confirmation hearing for Attorney General Jeff Sessions, ending months of legal wrangling.The woman, Desiree Fairooz, was protesting with Code Pink, a progressive group whose activists are regularly seen around Washington. The New York Times reported Wednesday that Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus R. Vance sent a subpoena last year to Deutsche Bank as part of his investigation into Trump’s business dealings. The Times cited four people familiar with the inquiry. Vance’s office declined to comment. Attorneys for Trump and Deutsche Bank didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment. The Idaho Lottery launched what’s being billed as “a first of its kind” Scratch Game Wednesday, by introducing a clear plastic scratch ticket. The new game, called “Cash Getaway,” is 100% recyclable, Lottery officials said. “The Idaho Lottery has a long history of being on the forefront of cutting-edge technology,” said Lottery Director Jeff Anderson. “Idaho is a unique geographic marketplace that is ideal for trying new products and new innovations that will eventually lead to introduction in other jurisdictions around the country.”Players can actually see through the ticket. The Gulf Coast appears to have dodged a bullet after Marco — once a tropical storm — collapsed into a post-tropical cyclone as it neared the Louisiana coast. But the National Hurricane Center (NHC) warns that the region faces a more substantial threat in Hurricane Laura.Just after 8 a.m. on Tuesday, the NHC reported that Laura had officially strengthened into a Category 1 hurricane, with maximum sustained winds of over 74 mph. As part of the agency's 11 p.m.. ET update, the storm is expected to reach the Louisiana or Texas coast by late Wednesday evening or early Thursday morning. By the time it reaches the coast, the NHC forecasts that the storm could be a Major Category 3 hurricane, with maximum sustained winds of 120 MPH.At 11 p.m. ET on Tuesday, Hurricane Laura had top winds of 90 MPH, and was located 405 miles southeast of Lake Charles, Louisiana. The storm is moving west-northwest at 17 MPH.The storm has already proven to be deadly.
