PARKER, Colo. – The Douglas County (Colorado) Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of an infant that occurred at an unlicensed daycare facility in Parker.The infant was pronounced deceased Wednesday at Sky Ridge Medical Center.“We do have an open death investigation of an infant at 14166 Lexington drive in Parker. The status of the daycare facility is something that we will be looking at during the investigation,” read a statement from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.Madlynn Ruble with the Colorado Department of Human Services said the state was aware of an unlicensed and illegal childcare service being operated out of the home after a complaint was filed.The department served a cease and desist order to Amanda Anderson, who is alleged to have been running the daycare service. It’s unclear if any charges were filed.In the complaint, police noted that there were 16 children in the home at the time of incident -- most of the children were toddlers.The coroner’s office has legally identified the infant and an autopsy has been completed. PARIS (AP) — Paris city hall has been fined 90,000 euros (9,408) for having appointed too many women to top positions in 2018, in breach of a law aimed at ensuring gender balance. Paris mayor Anne Hidalgo denounced the fine as “unfair” and “absurd” on Tuesday during a meeting of the city council. In 2018, 11 women and 5 men — representing just over 30% — were appointed to senior positions in the Paris city hall. A 2013 law required a minimum of 40% of appointments for each gender. Since then, the law has been changed to provide for exceptions to nominations when the gender balance is respected overall. “Yes, we need to promote women with determination and vigor because everywhere, France is still lagging behind (on that issue),” Hidalgo said.In Paris city hall right now, 47% of people in senior position are women. 836

OTAY MESA, Calif. (KGTV) - Family members and friends gathered Friday evening to remember the woman shot and killed while working at Church’s Chicken in Otay Mesa West. Maribel Merino-Iba?ez, 28, died and two male employees were injured when a gunman opened fire in the restaurant on Del Sol Boulevard Wednesday evening. Mourners gathered outside the Church’s Chicken two days later, carrying candles, flowers, and photos of Maribel.
