The road buckled about 12 inches and water spilled onto half the roadway.Within an hour, the water department reached the scene to evaluate the situation. They also said no one is without water, and that the break would be repaired the same day. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Federal investigators are looking for a woman and getaway driver who attempted to rob a South Bay bank last December.A female suspect approached a bank teller just after 2:30 p.m. on Dec. 7, 2017, at the Bank of America located at 605 Saturn Boulevard in Imperial Beach. The woman presented a note to the teller, demanding money, according to the FBI.However, the teller refused to comply with the woman's demands.The woman left without any money and met an awaiting driver outside before fleeing the area.FBI investigators described the suspect as a Hispanic woman between 25- and 35-years-old, about 5-feet 6-inches tall, and with medium build. She was last seen wearing a camouflage jacket with a hood and gold-rimmed sunglasses.The getaway car is described as a silver Ford Mustang with a black racing stripe down the center. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — For the first time in 40 days, San Diego County has fallen below the state's County Monitoring List threshold for coronavirus case rate.San Diego County was placed on the list on July 3 after it crossed the state metric of 100 cases per 100,000 people over 14 days. Wednesday, the county reported a case rate of 94.1.The county will have to remain off the watch list for another three days to get off California's watch list and an additional 14 days in order for local schools grades 7th through 12th can return to in-person instruction.No other businesses are slated to be allowed to reopen after that 17-day window unless the state provides more guidance for business reopenings, according to the county.San Diego County reported 236 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, a 3% positive rate out of 7,339 reported tests. Six new deaths were also reported, including five women and one man who died between July 28 and Aug. 11. All of the victims had underlying conditions, county officials said.The county also reported two new community outbreaks, one in a grocery setting and one in a manufacturing setting.While the county's case rate has fallen, it continues to be high above its community outbreak threshold of seven in seven days. Currently, the county has 26 community outbreaks in a week. A community outbreak is three or more coronavirus cases in the same setting in people of different households in the past two weeks.Supervisor Nathan Fletcher said of the drop in the county's case rate: "San Diegans should be proud of the progress we have made, but we have to recognize the goal is not just to get our cases down, it is to keep them down. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — High surf forced the west wall at La Jolla's Children's Pool and Ocean Beach Pier closed Saturday.A high surf advisory was issued for the county's coast from Saturday to Sunday at 4 p.m. Surf is expected to peak Saturday with waves up to 10 feet possible along the county's coastline. Sunday, surf conditions are expected to hold through the day.Beachgoers were warned of strong rip currents and possible beach erosion during the surf event. Lifeguards asked that anyone heading to San Diego's beach hold off on water activities and watch the bluffs until the high surf passes.Because of the surf, San Diego Fire-Rescue lifeguards closed the Ocean Beach Pier on Friday just before 10 a.m. and were expected to keep the pier closed through at least Saturday morning.In La Jolla, lifeguards said the west wall of the Children's Pool was closed to visitors, as waves crashed over the barrier. 916
