SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A 28-year-old was stabbed while trying to break up a fight in Pacific Beach early Sunday morning, police say. According to police, the stabbing took place on the 800 block of Garnet Avenue just after midnight. The 28-year-old was walking when he saw a fight break out between a man and a woman. Police say the victim tried to break up the fight when he and the suspect got into a fight. At that point, police say a third person joined the fight when the victim was kneed in the face and stabbed twice in the abdomen. According to police, the victim didn’t know he’d been stabbed until he got home. His injuries were non-life threatening. 666

SAN DIEGO (CNS) -- Two San Diego-area teachers are among six state finalists announced Tuesday for the 2020 Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching.According to the State Department of Education, the award honors teachers who "display subject mastery, appropriate use of instructional methods and strategies, lifelong learning and leadership in education outside the classroom."The PAEMST is presented by the National Science Foundation. An educator for 14 years, Pease teaches courses in Introduction to Coding; Gateway to Technology: Design and Modeling, Automation and Robotics; and Computer Science for Innovators and Makers. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A car crashed Monday afternoon into the front of a Pacific Beach 7-Eleven, destroying a portion of the store.According to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department, the incident happened near Cass Street and Loring Street.Crews said the elderly man who was driving hit the gas instead of the brakes, and the car slammed through a window of the convenience store up to its windshield.The driver, customers, and the clerk working at the counter were not hurt.The car also missed the propane tanks stored in a metal cage outside the store. There was no significant structural damage. 608
