Bette Midler is again being accused of posting a racist tweet. The legendary singer and actress is well known for being a critic of President Donald Trump. On Wednesday she tweeted an image showing a group of black people seen in the crowd at a Trump rally."Look, there are African American men in this shot!," Midler tweeted. "How much did he pay them to be "blackground"?"The tweet drew backlash -- especially from the right."This is one of the most racist, degrading 'jokes' I've seen on Twitter & that's saying a lot," actress Kirstie Alley tweeted. "We get it Bette, you hate Trump & that's your right but to imply Black men have to be PAID to celebrate their OWN political views is pure and REAL racism. And "BLACKGROUND"?? WTF??!!"CNN has reached out to reps for Midler for comment. In October, Midler was slammed for tweeting "Women, are the n-word of the world. Raped, beaten, enslaved, married off, worked like dumb animals; denied education and inheritance; enduring the pain and danger of childbirth and life IN SILENCE for THOUSANDS of years They are the most disrespected creatures on earth."The tweet was deleted and she apologized, tweeting "The too brief investigation of allegations against (Brett) Kavanaugh infuriated me.""Angrily I tweeted w/o thinking my choice of words would be enraging to black women who doubly suffer, both by being women and by being black," Midler wrote. "I am an ally and stand with you; always have. And I apologize." 1481

As food banks have struggled to meet soaring demand from people suddenly out of work because of the coronavirus pandemic, it has been especially troubling to see farmers have to bury produce, dump milk and euthanize hogs. Now some states are providing more money to help pay for food that might otherwise go to waste, the U.S. Agriculture Department is spending billion to help get farm products to food banks, and a senator is seeking billion more to buy farm produce for food banks.“Obviously nobody likes to see waste of good food,” said Mark Quandt, executive director of the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York. “And to know that farmers put so much work and money and energy into producing the product. That’s got to be breaking their heart to then have to just dump product like that or just throw it away or plow it under.”Farmers were left with little choice after the closure of restaurants and schools abruptly ended much of the demand for the food they produced.Thousands of acres of 1021

Braxton Ryback, 25, and Johnny Young, 22, were recently arrested by Las Vegas police after threatening to shoot up the XS Nightclub at Wynn Las Vegas. The incident happened Aug. 10. Police were told that Ryback and Young were shouting "White privilege, white power, we are white supremacist" and locking their fists like they were going to hit people. Police were also told that the men told security that they were going to come back and shoot the place up. Young then allegedly returned to the hotel-casino with pepper spray.During an interview with police, Young told police that he had a weapon in his vehicle at the Wynn and another weapon in his apartment. He also told police that Ryback spent time on a website called "Daily Stormer" and that he shared Ryback's beliefs. Young also told police that he was drunk and angry at security because they had stopped him from taking photos of security cameras but he never had any intention of hurting someone. He said he intended to only use the pepper spray for protection if needed. 1046
