TULSA, Okla. — A Tulsa police major is suing several media companies for publishing comments he made in a radio interview in June.Major Travis Yates has filed a lawsuit against Comcast, Gannett, Public Radio Tulsa, Gatehouse Media and others, saying their reports portrayed him in a "false light."During a June appearance on Talk Radio 1170 with host Pat Campbell, Yates said data shows systemic racism "doesn't exist" and "all the research says we're shooting African Americans about 24% less than we ought to be based on the crimes being committed."In the days following his comments, the Tulsa Police Department opened an investigation into Yates, and Tulsa Mayor G.T. Bynum called on Yates to apologize.Yates later claimed his comments were taken out of context, particularly in the headlines of some media reports. Two people were found dead in a South Euclid, Ohio home early Saturday morning following a 12-hour standoff tied to the investigation of a Beachwood, Ohio doctor who was found shot to death on Thursday.Around 7:30 p.m Friday, SWAT converged on a second house belonging to Dr. Richard Warn in the 4300 block of Elmwood Road to serve a warrant with homicide detectives. Warn was found dead the previous day inside his Beachwood home on Brentwood Road.SWAT officers made entry into the residence using an armored vehicle and were met with gunfire. Authorities retreated and over the next 12 hours attempted to make contact with the people inside. On Saturday morning SWAT entered the house and found two white males dead inside, police said.The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation is processing the scene for evidence.Police said the two men were persons of interest in the doctor's death. Their identities have not been released, and it's not known how they died.Watch the press conference regarding the SWAT standoff below: 1052

Update, 1:28 p.m. Chula Vista Police say Ennis was found safe. He apparently took a cab to his former home in Santee.CHULA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) — Police in the South Bay area searching for a missing man who may have walked away from an assisted living home.David Ennis, 90, is believed to have walked away from the home on G Street just before 7 a.m. Friday, according to Chula Vista Police. Ennis suffers from dementia and is not familiar with the area, police added. Because of that and the cold weather, Ennis is considered at-risk.The man is described as Caucasian, six-feet tall, clean shaven, and with balding gray hair. He is known to walk with a cane, hunched-over. He was last seen wearing a dark blue hat, navy blue jacket, and gray sweatpants. UPDATE (6:59 p.m.): San Diego police identified the two people arrested as 50 year-old Paul Weinberger and 37 year-old Freddy Sosa. Police said Weinberger lived in the home where the homicide happened. Both men will booked into jail on charges related to the homicide. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A man was fatally shot at a Pacific Beach home early Saturday and police are now searching for three men reportedly seen leaving the scene in a stolen SUV.The 44-year-old man was shot at a home in the 2300 block of Wilbur Ave. sometime just before 2 a.m., according to San Diego Police. Neighbors reported gunshots in the area before police arrived and found the man suffering from a gunshot wound.First responders arrived to provide life-saving measures and the man was taken to a nearby hospital, where he died of his injuries. His identity is known but had not been released until his family is notified.Police said three men in their 20s and 30s were seen leaving the man's home around the time gunfire rang out. There were several residents in the home and police believe the suspects fled in a white, 2015 Lexus RX350 SUV belonging to one of the residents. The vehicle's California license plate is 7NWK357. VERO BEACH, Fla. -- For Crystal Smith, the midday heat in Florida isn't her biggest challenge. Living in a shelter, the single mom is trying to get back on her feet.She was one of the first people working at the "Dignity Food Truck" in Vero Beach."I've just been making food, certain dishes, just learning. (The organizers) give you on the job training and actually give you a job," said Smith.Set up by the Source, a Christian Ministry outreach in Vero Beach, it is a new program for the homeless and unemployed."What our students lack is real-time training in front of real customers. That's what Dignity Food Truck gives them. It gives them real exposure in real-time, made-to-order food," said Anthony Zorbaugh, the executive director of the Source.Chef Henry Restrepo said this is his most important mission in two decades of cooking."We train them for the culinary so they can get their life back," said Restrepo.Money raised goes back into the program.The truck was made possible by a 0,000 grant from the philanthropic group Impact 100."We love the mission. We love the project itself. It fulfills a multitude of needs," said Kristin Rohr with Impact 100.It fills an immediate need for Smith while giving her hope for the future."I would like my own business eventually," said Smith.The Food Truck will be parked at Tropical Scooters along U.S. 1 in Vero Beach on Mondays and Tuesdays.It will be at United Against Poverty Wednesdays and Route 60 Hyundai on Fridays.
