More people are making money at home than ever before. According to data from Pinterest, stay-at-home side hustles have surged.Three years ago, Atlanta resident Jason Butler, a full-time financial aid advisor at a university, decided he needed to generate more income, so he opened his own eBay store.“I got serious about it in 2016, and since that time, I've gone from selling things from like 0 a month to currently making over 0 dollars a month, selling things online,” Butler says.Butler sells a variety of items on his page, including tennis shoes, basketball jerseys, bobble heads, coffee mugs, etc. He says he gets some of those items from yard sales or thrift stores. After reading blogs about how to sell things on eBay, Butler decided to give it a shot. “I had to figure out what I knew, and I knew a lot about sports, so one of my first big flips was selling a Dwayne Wade Miami Heat jersey,” Butler says. “I found the jersey in the thrift store for and it sold literally two days later for . Since then, I was hooked.”Butler's budding side business has grown! Now, he's on track to make even more money. "If things continue to go how they will be, I’ll be at ,000 within 2 to 3 months,” he says.According data collected by Pinterest, more people than ever before are adding to their income by having an at-home side gig.The most popular at home jobs: 1393

MILWAUKEE, Wisc. — Pfizer’s coronavirus vaccine is already being widely distributed across the country for healthcare workers, but a Milwaukee attorney warns the general public should know there is very little recourse if they have a bad reaction to any COVID-19 vaccine.Tens of thousands of people took part in several coronavirus vaccine trials. Some reported minor and temporary side effects such as headaches and fatigue and there were no signs of long-term health effects.Given that the trials were completed less than a month ago, vaccine liability attorney Jerry Konkel believes people should be aware that their legal rights are limited if the vaccine somehow harms them.“One thing I would say is to have a high level of suspicion,” Konkel said.Konkel said the federal government has shielded coronavirus vaccine manufacturers from personal liability lawsuits. Instead, there’s a federal fund for those who can prove their injuries were caused by the vaccine less than one year after receiving it.“They only pay non-covered medical expenses and lost wages as a general rule so it’s a big difference from the general vaccine compensation program which will pay for uncovered medical expenses, lost wages, future medical expenses, pain suffering, and disability,” Konkel said.Dr. Ryan Westergaard is Wisconsin’s chief medical officer of communicable diseases. He’s trying to convince those who are skeptical of the vaccine that it is the quickest way to return to normalcy.“The process that this vaccine was used to be developed was transparent and worthy of trust,” he said.Dr. Westergaard said there are two ways to understand the safety of vaccines, clinical trials followed by post-use surveillance. Those who administer vaccines are required to report any issues patients to encounter.“There haven’t been any long term negative consequences although it is early,” Dr. Westergaard said.Another way the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention plans to get data about vaccine side effects is through a smartphone application called ‘V-safe’. People who get the vaccine will be able to voluntarily report any symptoms they have in real-time.This story was first reported by Ben Jordan at TMJ4 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. 2235
NASA said that astronauts successfully grew radishes on board the International Space Station for the first time in NASA history. The plants are being placed in cold storage to be examined when astronauts return from the space station in 2021.NASA says that the radishes reached maturity in 27 days, and are fully edible and nutritious.“Radishes are a different kind of crop compared to leafy greens that astronauts previously grew on the space station, or dwarf wheat which was the first crop grown in the APH,” said Nicole Dufour, NASA APH program manager at Kennedy Space Center. “Growing a range of crops helps us determine which plants thrive in microgravity and offer the best variety and nutritional balance for astronauts on long-duration missions.”Growing plants on board could be an important step in order to send astronauts to Mars and beyond. NASA said its encouraged by the results given that radishes are easy for astronauts to maintain. 959
National security adviser H.R. McMaster has agreed to resign and will be replaced by former US ambassador and Fox News analyst John Bolton, President Donald Trump announced in a tweet on Thursday."I pleased to announce that, effective 4/9/18, @AmbJohnBolton will be my new National Security Advisor. I am very thankful for the service of General H.R. McMaster who has done an outstanding job & will always remain my friend. There will be an official contact handover on 4/19.""The two have been discussing this for some time. The timeline was expedited as they both felt it was important to have the new team in place, instead of constant speculation," a White House official said. "This was not related to any one moment or incident, rather it was the result of ongoing conversations between the two."Bolton is a stalwart of Republican national security circles known for his hawkish views."After 34 years of service to our nation, I am requesting retirement from the U.S. Army effective this summer after which I will leave public service. Throughout my career it has been my greatest privilege to serve alongside extraordinary servicemembers and dedicated civilians," McMaster said in a statement released by the White House."I am thankful to President Donald J. Trump for the opportunity to serve him and our nation as national security advisor. I am grateful for the friendship and support of the members of the National Security Council who worked together to provide the President with the best options to protect and advance our national interests," the statement said. 1589
