Walmart has announced that customers won't have to leave home to return their online purchases.On Monday, the company announced they are partnering up with FedEx for a new return service that would allow items to be returned to be picked up from your home.To use Carrier Pickup by FedEx, customers would select which item(s) they are returning on Walmart's website or app, then schedule a date for pickup, and print a label.If you don't have a printer, Walmart said you'd drop it off at FedEx using a QR code off Walmart's website or app and drop the package off at a FedEx location.The "incredibly convenient" return option is free and would stay well beyond the holiday season, Linne Fulcher, Vice President, Customer Strategy, Science and Journeys said.The retail giant also announced a few changes to holiday returns, including finding purchases in-store through your debit or credit card. If you lose your receipt, start your return online to make in-store returns quick and easy and open alternate locations within the store.Walmart added that refunds would be credited sometimes as soon as the next day for online returns and same-day for in-store returns. 1171

Virginia Beach Police are investigating a shooting that seriously injured two people early Sunday morning.Officers were alerted to multiple shots fired in the area around 12:45 a.m. A woman was located and suffering from a life-threatening wound. Medics treated the woman and took her to the hospital.A few minutes later at 12:48 a.m., officers received word that a victim with life-threatening injuries was located in several blocks away. EMS treated and took the victim to the hospital for further treatment.A possible suspect has been detained and the investigation is ongoing.Prior to this shooting, police responded to another shooting at the 1900 block of the Boardwalk. A woman suffered non-life threatening injuries in the incident.There is an increased police presence throughout the oceanfront area due to College Beach Weekend. Problems with violence in past years have caused some to be critical of the event. Last year, thousands signed a petition calling for an end to College Beach Weekend after four people at the Oceanfront were injured from a shooting. 1078

VISTA (CNS) - A man is in custody for an alleged hit-and-run accident that caused a fatality, a California Highway Patrol official said today.Authorities arrested David Palafox, 29 of Vista and booked him into the Vista Detention Facility on suspicion of felony manslaughter, driving under the influence, and hit-and-run, said Mark Latulippe, CHP public information officer.Related: Interstate 5 hit and run deathAccording to the CHP, at 8:14 p.m. Friday, Palafox was driving his white GMC Sierra truck eastbound at a high rate of speed on Palmyra Drive, approaching Estrelita Drive.A 51-year-old man was walking across Estrelita Drive near the intersection when Palafox turned his vehicle right and hit him, Latulippe said.Related: Retrial for San Ysidro hit-and-run suspectLatulippe said Palafox didn't stop and fled the scene. WASHINGTON -- A veteran who lost his genitals due to a blast in Afghanistan has received the world’s most extensive penis transplant, according to the Associated Press.Surgeons at John Hopkins University said they wanted to address “an unspoken injury of war” by rebuilding the man’s entire pelvic region, transplanting a penis, scrotum and part of an abdominal wall from a deceased donor.In total, officials with the hospital said the surgery took 14 hours.Such transplants "can help those warriors with missing genitalia just as hand and arm transplant transformed the lives of amputees," Dr. W.P. Andrew Lee, Hopkins' chairman of plastic and reconstructive surgery.The patient, who asked to keep his identity hidden, is expected to regain urinary and sexual function.The scrotum transplant didn’t include the donor’s testicles, so reproduction won’t be possible.Three other successful penis transplants have been performed. Two in South Africa and one at Massachusetts General Hospital.For functionality, surgeons had to connect nerves and blood vessels. VISTA (CNS) - An Oceanside physician who sexually assaulted five female patients referred by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs was sentenced Thursday to three years probation and was ordered to register as a sex offender and surrender his medical license.Dr. Edgar Manzanera, 39, could face three years in state prison if he violates the terms of his probation.Manzanera, who was contracted by the VA to review pension disability claims, pleaded guilty last September to one count of sexual exploitation by a physician for acts committed in 2015 and 2016, and admitted a special allegation of committing acts against multiple victims.RELATED: Former doctor pleads guilty to sexual misconductFour counts of sexual penetration with a foreign object were dismissed as part of the plea."The victims placed the defendant in a position of inherent trust and confidence and the defendant betrayed that trust," Deputy District Attorney Claudia Plascencia said when Manzanera pleaded guilty.
