(KGTV) - A Southern California storm system brought rain, hail, sleet, and snow to area valleys, mountains, and deserts.Snow is expected above 2,500 feet, while numerous showers and some hail, are expected along the coast and in valleys.In Los Angeles, the storm is expected to bring only a chance of showers Tuesday. A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for the region until 10 p.m. Tuesday.Just North of Los Angeles, Grapevine will have a 40 percent chance of showers most of Tuesday, decreasing to a 20 percent chance of showers later in the day. (KGTV) - A SpaceX Falcon 9 unmanned rocket will launch from Florida Wednesday afternoon with a planet-searching satellite on board for NASA.The Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS) is part of a mission to find exoplanets that periodically block part of the light from their host stars, events called transits, NASA said.TESS will survey the nearest and brightest stars for two years to search for transiting exoplanets, according to scientists. NASA’s satellite will look for stars 30 to 100 times brighter than those observed by the Kepler satellite launched in 2009.TESS also will scan a larger area than Kepler, NASA officials said. It will spend about a month at a time focusing on one portion of sky, eventually covering the entire sky. (KGTV) - A workplace shooting at YouTube's San Bruno headquarters has left many local workers wondering, "what would I do?"Cody Perron, COO of the security firm Fidelis Global Group, said it initially comes down to two simple things every employee can do."Number one is maintain situational awareness, so anywhere you are whether it's public or your office space," Perron said. "If it's in public, be concerned with your surroundings and notice things that stand out, that are counter to normal activity in that environment. So when you walk inside a facility, especially where you work, you should know where your entries and exits are. (KGTV) — Facebook told 10News Friday they are aware of a disturbing viral video showing abuse of a child and have removed it from the social media platform.In a Facebook post Sunday, a person is seen repeatedly slapping a child on the head with both hands throughout the 47-second video. The young child is seen screaming next to a bucket clutching a towel, as the person pummels the child with slaps.The video of the apparent abuse originated in South Africa, a Facebook spokesperson told 10News. Proposition 21 would have allowed counties to apply rent control to housing more than 15 years old, with the exception of some single-family homes.Single-family homes owned by people with no more than two properties would have been exempt under proposition 21.Those in support say it’s the change needed to combat homelessness and keep people in their homes.
