The Swedish carmaker says the recall has been declared to avoid future issues.The recall is the biggest ever for the brand. The affected models are Volvo S60, S60L, S60CC, V60, V60CC, XC60, V70, XC70, S80 och S80L manufactured between 2006 and 2019, The Associated Press has learned.No current models are included in the recall.Volvo Cars has been owned by China’s Zhejiang Geely Holding Group since 2010. 808

College students rely on internships to give them hands-on experience before graduating and going into the workforce. However, this year, 22% or nearly one in four college students had their summer internships canceled because of the pandemic, according to a survey done by the National Association of Colleges and Employers.“I was supposed to work with the Indianapolis Motor Speedway this summer, working full-time for about 10 weeks,” said Purdue University junior Patrick Haimbaugh. “I was really excited about it, but it did get canceled.”Fortunately for Haimbaugh, when his internship fell through, a company called TechPoint was seeing how many students were losing internships and decided it wanted to help.“It felt like I had a second chance, like the summer wasn’t just going to be a blowout,” said Haimbaugh.“We thought you know what based on our organization, position and where we sit in the community, this is an area where we can make a difference,” said Mike Langellier, the CEO of TechPoint.TechPoint normally has a summer internship program that helps about 100 students, but in the wake of the wave of internship cancellations, it decided to create a second summer internship program for five times as many students. The new program was practically created overnight and called the SOS Challenge.“Their task is over the course of five weeks to come up with a product prototype and a go-to market strategy aimed at one of nine different challenge topics, and they are all COVID related,” said Langellier. “So, they include things like tele-health, outbreak detections, restaurants and small businesses.”TechPoint got 56 other companies and more than 250 tech professionals to commit to helping with the SOS Challenge interns. Country singer Gretchen Wilson was arrested in Connecticut after allegedly becoming belligerent with police at a local airport. CBS affiliate WFSB reported Wednesday morning that the Connecticut State Police was called to Bradley International Airport near Hartford on Tuesday. There had apparently been a minor disturbance on an incoming flight. Authorities said Wilson became belligerent during an interview. COLLEGE AREA (KGTV) - A former San Diego State University student was arrested for arson on Saturday, according to university police.Madelyn Delarosa is reportedly connected to a string of fires within the College Area. Campus police arrested Delarosa on Saturday morning after, they say, she started a fire in a parking garage. The fire reignited Saturday night. Students were evacuated from the Granada on Hardy Apartments both times. Police say Delarosa's crimes started on Thursday, March 14th, around 11 a.m., when a university police officer spotted a parked vehicle on fire near the 5500 block of Hardy Avenue. The officer successfully extinguished the fire, police said. There were no injuries.Officers were then notified of another fire involving the exterior door of an apartment in the 5600 block of Hardy Avenue, according to a police press release. That fire was extinguished before crews arrived and no one was injured.On Friday, March 15th, at around 8:30 a.m., community members notified police of another fire involving an apartment near the 5500 block of Montezuma Road. There were no injuries, and the fire went out on its own. Delarosa was arrested for possession of arson materials, arson of an inhabited structure, and arson to property. The motive is still under investigation. 1309
