Apple is widely expected to unveil its latest lineup of iPhones at a closely watched media event on Tuesday. But don't hold your breath for an iPhone that's foldable, 5G capable or radically different from the models released last year. Here's what Apple is likely to announce instead:iPhone predictions: Apple will likely show off three new high-end iPhones — the iPhone 11 Pro, the iPhone 11 Pro Max and the iPhone 11 — replacing its XS, XS Max and XR models, respectively.Rumored features: The new phones may include a faster processor, improved Face ID and a new camera system with three cameras on the back. The devices will likely look nearly identical to last year.Software updates: Apple announced in June that iOS 13 will feature a dark mode to save on battery life, a way to silence unknown callers and a tool that allows you to swipe to type, rather than lifting your fingers.Other hardware products: Apple may also integrate artificial intelligence capabilities and built-in sleep tracking into the Apple Watch. The rumor mill also suggests updates for MacBooks, iPads and Apple TV hardware. What not to expect: A 5G iPhone. That will likely come in 2020. 1177

As commemorations for the 30th anniversary of the Tiananmen Square massacre take place worldwide Tuesday, any coverage or discussion of the event will be tightly censored in China.Hundreds of people were killed on June 4, 1989, as People's Liberation Army troops cracked down on pro-democracy protesters in and around Beijing's Tiananmen Square. Events will be held and speeches made to commemorate the massacre and those who died in cities around the world. In central Taipei, capital of self-ruled Taiwan, a massive inflatable version of the iconic "Tank Man," who defied the military as they entered Tiananmen Square, has been on display for several weeks. On Monday, Taiwan's Mainland Affairs Council called on Beijing to "face up to historical mistakes and apologize as soon as possible for the crackdown.""In the past 30 years, Beijing lacked the courage to calmly reflect on the historical significance of the June 4th Incident," the council's statement said. "Rather, they blocked the information and distorted the truth about it and tried to conceal the crime."Activists will 1095
Before 7-year-old Faizan Zaki takes the stage at this year’s national spelling bee competition, he will take the stage to sing with his first-grade class in Allen, Texas. Zaki is the youngest participant in the 2019 Scripps National Spelling Bee. When asked how he felt about being the youngest speller, Zaki replies, “I just feel normal.” However, Zaki isn’t like most 7-year-olds. For one, he loves astronomy. “And my favorite thing about astronomy is like hypothetical objects like carbon stars and quasi stars,” Zaki says. He also loves science.“This is a periodic table, and it has 118 elements,” he explains. Not only does he know most of the elements by memory, but he knows how to spell them all, too.As for his favorite things to spell? Zaki says he loves long words. But even with his superior spelling skills, his parents are still shocked by his success. As a first-grader, he beat out sixth-graders to win his schools spelling bee. He eventually earned a spot on the national stage.“He loves it. I mean he loves the learning and words, and so that has been like, you know, it's just been very easy,” says his mother, Arshia Quadri.Zaki’s parents said they started studying words with him for fun.And even through they’re practicing a little bit more now, it’s still about having fun.“We just want him to be happy and, you know, experience that,” Quadri says. “You know the whole experience of going to the bee.”“And if he can spell a few words there and get to a few rounds, then good for him, that would be amazing,” says his father Zaki Anwar. To those with a dream, Zaki says to try hard and keep trying.“If you try, then you can probably win next time,” he says. 1689
ATLANTA (AP) — The College Football Hall of Fame is boarded up and assessing damage from a destructive night of protests in downtown Atlanta. The facility's most valuable trophies and artifacts were moved to a secure facility in case additional trouble breaks out. There have been protests around the nation over the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis. The Hall of Fame's chief executive officer, Kimberly Beaudin, says the building's extensive glass facade was smashed late Friday night. Rioters also broke into the street-level gift shop, stole merchandise and left it "pretty trashed." But the interior of the hall was not breached. 647
