ORLANDO, Fla. – Friday, the nation remembers one of the deadliest mass shootings in United States history.June 12 is the fourth anniversary of the Pulse nightclub massacre in Orlando, Florida.On that day in 2016, Omar Mateen opened fire inside of the LGBT club, killing a total of 49 people. More than 50 others were injured.Police shot and killed Mateen during the events of that night.In honor of the shooting victims, Gov. Ron DeSantis has ordered all flags in the state to be flown at half-staff on Friday.The Orlando community also plans to hold a tribute and a remembrance ceremony virtually, due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.During prior anniversaries, the community has gathered outside the club to remember the victims. This year, the area around the business was closed to public, but survivors, family members of victims and first responders are being allowed to visit. 895

OCEAN BEACH (KGTV)- Big waves continue to pound the coast today. A High Surf Advisory is issued until Friday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. Waves reached heights up to eight feet Thursday and along Ocean Beach Pier, some waves reached 10 feet. As we normally see during high surf, advanced surfers made their way to the beaches. In Ocean Beach, crews continued their work to repair the pier despite the high surf below. Waves up to 10 feet crashed into the pier. One Ocean Beach resident tells 10News, "you know we spend all this money to live here and this is one of our facilities, it's sad when its closed". Crews are still on track to reopen the pier by Memorial Day, according to the City of San Diego. 709

(KGTV) — One person is presumed dead after going underwater as rescue personnel tried to save them.Oceanside Fire Department was called to rescue a person in the water near Oceanside Pier just after 3 a.m. Saturday, according to the department. A person was located clinging to a pylon.A rescue swimmer dove into the water to help the person, simultaneously while the person let go of the pylon and went underwater, OFD says.Rescuers continued to search the surrounding waters for the victim but were unable to locate them. Crews suspended searching the area for the individual after several hours Saturday. 633

OCEANSIDE, Calif (KGTV) -- A pedestrian was struck and killed by a semi-truck on Interstate 5 near Mission Avenue early Thursday morning.According to California Highway Patrol, the pedestrian was standing in the middle of the southbound lanes around 2:30 a.m. when they were hit. Deputies say the victim was killed instantly.The semi-truck driver did stay at the scene.Deputies are investigating why the victim was in the middle of the freeway. 452
