SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A BB gun shooting spree has neighbors frightened Sunday after more than a dozen incidents across San Diego.At the corner of L Street and Sixth Avenue a woman was shot in the arm overnight, according to San Diego Police. She was walking in a small group and one of the men was an exhibitor at Comic Con, staying at the Omni Hotel, where they were headed before the shooting. That man, Sal Abbinanti, said "The girl I was with said a guy in a white car in the back seat, she heard a trigger sound and then she's like oh I think I just got shot which kinda got out attention and then we saw it was bruised and bleeding and it looked like a BB." "There's just so much security down here, so many San Diego police down here. I was surprised that this guy was dumb and brazen to do something like that," he said the hotel provided excellent care to his friend.Over in National City and Paradise Hills, at least a dozen cars were hit.Coronado Police say at least 11 businesses were hit.Downtown, police reported four more instances of people being shot at or hit by BB guns.The rash of crimes comes after 10News reported more than a dozen businesses and car windows busted by BBs in the past month:June 24th – Numerous vehicle windows were vandalized in the Point Loma, Ocean Beach and Mission Hills neighborhoods.July 1st and July 2nd - Three businesses in the Hillcrest neighborhood were vandalized.July 2nd - Two businesses in the Park West neighborhood were vandalized.July 2nd and July 3rd – Numerous vehicle windows were vandalized in the Clairemont neighborhood.July 6th - Three businesses and one vehicle were vandalized in the Midway area. A dark colored SUV is suspected in these cases.July 7th - Five businesses in the College area were vandalized.July 8th - One home in the Lake Murray neighborhood was vandalized.According to California law, negligent discharge of a BB gun resulting in injury could mean up to a year in jail.Police from the corresponding agencies are working on these cases. SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Three men who took part in the shotgun slaying of a Pacific Beach resident late last year pleaded guilty Friday to voluntary manslaughter and assault charges.Carlos Yslas, 25; Pedro Ramirez, 27; and Freddy Sosa, 38, were previously facing murder charges in the Dec. 29, 2018, death of 44-year-old Marcanthony Mendivil, who was killed in a home in the 2300 block of Wilbur Avenue.Yslas, who admitted to firing the shotgun, faces up to 30 years in state prison when he is sentenced Jan. 10.RELATED: Suspects in fatal Pacific Beach shooting to be arraigned; victim identifiedRamirez, who faces eight years in prison, is also due to be sentenced Jan. 10. Sosa also faces eight years in prison and will be sentenced Nov. 15.A fourth defendant, Paul Charles Weinberger, 51, remains charged with murder and assault. He's due back in court next week for a status conference, with a preliminary hearing scheduled for Nov. 18. Weinberger remains out of custody on million bail.Prosecutors have said that Weinberger lived in the residence where Mendivil was shot in the predawn hours of Dec. 29. However, neither a motive for the slaying, nor the defendants' relationships to each other and the victim, have been disclosed.Officers found Mendivil suffering from a gunshot wound when they responded to a 1:47 a.m. call of a possible shooting last Dec. 29, San Diego Police Lt. Matt Dobbs said.Paramedics took him to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 2:30 a.m., Dobbs said.Deputy District Attorney Flavio Nominati alleged during Yslas and Ramirez's arraignment earlier this year that both men entered the home masked and gloved.Yslas threatened another witness with the shotgun, then fired twice on Mendivil, the prosecutor said. SAN DIEGO (KGTV and CNS) -- A suspected arsonist was arrested for allegedly starting a series of brush fires in Otay Mesa West, Sunday afternoon. MAST (Metro Arson Strike Team) investigators booked 49 year-old Ramon Guevara for arson.According to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department, the blaze broke out just after 10:30 near 4th Avenue and Private Road. The fires were ignited in the valley at Otay Valley Regional Park.Crews say at least 10 spot fires started along the road and, as of 12:30 p.m., and had burned three acres. Sunday marked the third day in a row small brush fires popped up in the area.
