Thursday marks the 93rd Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, which will maneuver through the streets of New York in front of hundreds of thousands. This year's parade will feature 16 giant character balloons; 40 novelty balloons, heritage balloons, balloonicles, balloonheads and trycaloons; 26 floats; 1,200 cheerleaders and dancers; more than 1,000 clowns; and 11 marching bands.New balloons this year include an Astronaut Snoopy, Green Eggs and Ham, and SpongeBob SquarePants and Gary. Although the visit was a rather cordial affair, one player's headgear drew some attention. Nationals catcher Kurt Suzuki donned a "Make America Great Again" hat during his visit, which drew the approval of President Donald Trump, who used the slogan during his 2016 presidential campaign. But the sight of Suzuki wearing the hat seemed to have upset some Nationals fans, who expressed their displeasure on social media on Monday. Transgender individuals can serve, but only if they meet the standards of the sex they were assigned at birth.The Pentagon says the policy doesn't block transgender individuals from service, but advocates say it is designed to operate as a comprehensive ban on their presence.
