(KGTV) — California officials announced Thursday the state's REAL ID identification is now in line with federal requirements.Last December, the Department of Homeland Security notified state officials that requirements for the new identification and drivers license needed to be stricter.Now, those applying for the card will need to show one proof of identity, original or certified; one proof of Social Security Number; and two proofs of California residency. A complete list of acceptable documents is available online here.Those who have already received a REAL ID license or card will receive a letter in the mail asking them to confirm their address and must mail the form back to the DMV. This will count for their second form of identification.RELATED: San Diego DMV customer has warning about websitePreviously, the state only required one proof of residency and counted the post office's delivery of the ID as the second form, placing it at odds with federal requirements.Beginning on Oct. 1, 2020, the REAL ID drivers license or ID will be needed for airline passengers traveling domestically or accessing federal facilities or military bases. However, airline passengers will still be able to show a passport to travel within the U.S. as well.Residents are encouraged to schedule appointments to apply for a REAL ID and fill out the necessary paperwork (available online) before visiting DMV offices.So far, the state estimates about 4.1 million REAL ID drivers licenses and cards have been issued. 1518

(KGTV) - Dramatic video shows how a plane crash and rescue of the pilot and passenger unfolded off the coast of Northern California. David Lesh purchased his Beechcraft Bonanza a few weeks ago and asked a fellow pilot to record aerial video from a second plane. “We were gonna go fly over the Golden Gate bridge, and do a whole bay tour... obviously didn't make it there,” Lesh said. During the flight, Lesh lost all power five miles off Half Moon Bay Harbor. “I would guess that we probably didn't have much more than maybe a minute or two from the time I figured something was wrong to the time we hit the water,” said Lesh. Lesh’s friend Owen Leipelt was piloting the second plane and watched as Lesh went down. “At one point I lost them. I had been circling and I couldn't see them anymore and David called me on the phone as he was bobbing in the water and he turned me around and he guided me right to where he was,” said Leipelt. Commander Joshua Murphy. You can get a low profile," says clinic Marketing Director, Marcell Reyes Vermillion, as he poses for selfies in a bright yellow photo-booth adorned with strings of yellow balls and a yellow shag carpet.The selfie-booth encourages those "cleared for sex" to take a picture for social media."This is a very sex positive message that we're hoping to share with people," said Dr. Susan Little, Professor of Medicine for UC San Diego. "There has been a lot of messaging around disease prevention. And we now have really good drugs, biomedical interventions, to prevent HIV infection among people who are negative. And to prevent transmission among people who are positive." Make no mistake, Dr. Little makes clear the goal is to stop transmission of STDs. Especially HIV among young Hispanic men where cases are still on rise. But Dr. Little says the new approach is to make getting checked an inviting experience, that celebrates health and sex."I think the time as come to let people know they no longer have to worry about disease," says Dr. Little. "We need to try and promote a sex positive, status neutral, sexual health promotion, rather than disease prevention." "Get checked, then you can mate with anyone you want," says Vermillion.
